As you peruse the pages of this program, bear in mind that the players you see listed here are the embodiment of true student-athletes. LaGrange College is a proud member of the Great South Athletic Conference and also is a full member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III, the only division whose affiliates do not offer sports scholarships. The athletes that fill our rosters compete for one reason: the love of the game. Over the past year, you may have noticed that the preponderance of news originating from the Athletics Department has dealt with our first football season in 2006. Perhaps you have read about the new artificial turf at Callaway Stadium, or our new practice field or the 17,000 square-foot addition to the Callaway Education Building. Easily lost in the dust of all this construction are the benefits derived not only for our emerging football program, but also for our entire slate of athletic teams. Basketball, volleyball, baseball-all of our sports- will benefit from the new weight room, athletic training room and laundry facilities that will be located in the CEB addition. LaGrange athletics plays a vital part in our plan to be the premier liberal arts and sciences college in Georgia. Our coaches prepare individuals to work as teams and reach for common goals, and they do this within a caring and ethical environment. Thank you for being a part of the LaGrange College experience. As our teams take part in physical competi- tion, we are mindful of the College's overriding mission: to challenge the mind and inspire the soul of every stu- dent. Dr. F.
