This document describes how to install TIBCO Foresight® Translator. Foresight® Translator converts data from EDI, flat file, or XML to another format using a command line, API, or GUI. Please see TIB_translator__usersguide.pdf for specific data formats used by Foresight Translator.

Software Requirements

Foresight Translator requires installation of the following third-party software: . IBM XL C/C++ for AIX 13.1.3.2 Fix Pack (July 2016) (AIX platforms only) . Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (Windows platforms only) . Sun Java Development Kit 1.8.x (All platforms) (Required only if using the Java API)

Installation Overview

Running the Installer on Windows Run the installer by double-clicking the installation EXE file. You must have administrator privileges for the machine on which this product is installed. To install the product on a network drive, ensure that the account used for installation has permission to access the network drive.

Running the Installer on Unix and Linux Run the installer from the command prompt. Any user can install this product. While installing this product on UNIX platforms, ensure that the same installer account is used to install all TIBCO Foresight products.

Installer Log File

The installer log file, tibco_universal_installer.timestamp.username _install.log, is written to the .TIBCO/install_timestamp folder of the TIBCO_HOME directory.

To change the location of the installer log file, use the installer’s command line option -V logFile="myLogFile"

TIBCO Foresight Translator Installation 4 Installation Requirements

Disk space before and during installation: Before installing this product, extract the contents of the installation archive to a temporary directory. The installer files use about 150 MB of disk space, counting the zip file plus the files after extraction. The installer will proceed only if sufficient free disk space is available. While performing installation, avoid running other processes that use up disk space.

Disk space after installation:

This product uses about 150 MB of free space under TIBCO_HOME.

Follow the directions in one of these sections: Default Installation Including Version Directory ...... page 6 Custom Installation to Directory of your Choice ...... page 8 Please read Appendix A: Controlling the Installation Directory on page 16.

Default Installation Including Version Directory

The default Foresight Translator installation will create a “translator” directory that contains a version directory like this under the high-level directory. You only select the high-level directory – in this example C:\TIBCO64. The version directory is automatically added.

To install: 1. Download the installation package to a temporary directory. Select the one that corresponds to the platform on which it will be installed.

2. Stop all instances of Foresight Translator and Translation Tool.

3. Extract the files from the installation package. In the resulting directory, double-click on TIBCOUniversalInstaller.exe.

To run from the command line instead, execute TIBCOUniversalInstaller.cmd or type the absolute path to the installer file with or without specifying options. There will be a brief pause.

4. On the first screen, click Next.

5. Read the license information, select I accept the terms of the license agreement, and click Next.

6. Choose to use an existing TIBCO_HOME or create a new one.

Create a new TIBCO_HOME To install to a new high-level directory structure, click this radio button and then specify: Directory The high-level directory into which the product is installed. Type a path or browse to specify the path. “translator\” will be automatically added below this path.

This will result in directory structure C:\TIBCO_TEST\translator\4.1\Bin.

Use an existing TIBCO_HOME To install the product into an existing installation environment, select or type the environment from the drop-down list. The installation will add the product name and a version directory. Example:

This will install Translator.exe in C:\tibco64\translator\4.0\bin. Click Next.

7. Select one of these and note the features you will be installing: . Full Installation . ISIServer Only . Runtime Only Instead, you can choose Customize Installation and then select or remove checks from the list of features at the right.

8. Click Next.

9. If the Pre-Install Summary is correct, click Install.

10. If you wish to view details of the tasks being performed during the install, click the “Show Details” checkbox.

11. Click Finish.

TIBCO Foresight Translator Installation 7 12. If you see this dialog, note where the green arrow is pointing. If it is indicating that it installed correctly, click This program installed correctly.

13. Look for the Foresight Translator directory.

14. Go to Foresight Translator’s Scripts directory and run a .bat script to test your installation. Results will be in Foresight Translator’s \output directory. See TIB_translator__usersguide.pdf, Appendix F: Foresight Translator Demos for information on the Demo scripts.

Custom Installation to Directory of your Choice

The default Foresight Translator installation will create a directory structure that includes a “translator” directory with a version directory beneath it, like this, where the underline portion is automatic: C:\TIBCO_TEST\translator\4.1\bin You may wish to determine your own directory structure, as in this example: C:\Foresight\Translator\bin If you want to specify your own directory structure, follow these directions:

To install: 1. Download the installation package to a temporary directory. Select the one that corresponds to the platform on which it will be installed.

2. Stop all instances of Foresight Translator and Translation Tool.

3. Extract the files from the installation package.

4. Edit the file product_translator_4.1.0_FeatureConfig.xml as follows:
