A club that would inspire a generation to play British ‘Association Football’ and proudly represent their Northside community, at home and across South East Queensland. Fifty six years later Albany Creek Excelsior Football Club (ACE) continues to deliver and build on this legacy. From humble backyard beginnings it is now one of the biggest non- for-profit, volunteer-run sporting clubs in Queensland. With growth showing no signs of slowing and unprecedented success on and off the field in 2019, the future of Albany Creek Excelsior FC is very exciting. Junior mascots accompanying our senior stars onto Wolter Park. 2 2020 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES CLUB PROFILE Albany Creek Excelsior is one of the largest junior football clubs in Brisbane with approximately 3000 members and 1000 registered players. In 2019 the club fielded 101 teams ranging from under 6’s to over 45’s, as well as Brisbane’s biggest Kindy soccer program for ages 2-5. ACE prides itself on its reputation as a family and community based club with a great culture and excellent facilities for its members. We retain a strong emphasis on participation and enjoyment by providing top quality programs for social players of all ages; boys, girls, men and women. 3 2020 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ELITE PATHWAYS ACE is also recognised as a club of excellence for professional player development. We offer genuine pathways for elite players giving them the best opportunity to achieve their potential. Both our Junior and Senior teams play in Football Brisbane’s highest grade competitions where 74 registered clubs from South East QLD compete. Our affiliation with National Premier League sister club Moreton Bay United also provides Albany Creek players a shop window to showcase their skills and an opportunity to test themselves in the Playstation 4 National Premier League, the highest level of Australian semi- professional football. “I am really grateful for what everyone at ACE and Moreton Bay United has done for me” (Joey Champness - Newcastle Jets Hyundai A-League, Australian U23 representative) Champness joined Albany Creek Excelsior (ACE) aged 13, before joining Moreton Bay United in 2013 - the first year of NPL Queensland. He played a total of 70 games, scoring 23 goals in three seasons at Under 16, Under 18, Youth and Senior levels. 4 2020 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES A RECORD BREAKING 2018 The 2018 season was the clubs best on record with over half ACE junior teams making the finals, the Men’s First team winning the Brisbane Premier League Premiership, the Men’s reserves winning Brisbane Premier League Reserve Grade Premiership and the club being awarded the Flight Centre Brisbane Premier League Club Champion. Five ACE players and our Head Coach were rewarded for thier outstanding seasons with selection in the Flight Centre Brisbane Premier League Select Team. The side took on Brisbane Roar during their Hyundai A-League pre-season preparations. 2019 is shaping up to finish the same way. 2018 FLIGHT CENTRE BRISBANE PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB CHAMPIONS 5 2020 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WORLD CLASS FACILITIES ACE operates out of two impressive facilities 30 minutes north of Brisbane’s CBD. Our spiritual home is Wolter Park [capacity 2,000]. Located on Jacaranda Drive, Albany Creek it has serviced our players since 1963. Recent renovations extended the building to include a player tunnel, four new change rooms, gymnasium and recovery facilities. The fully licensed clubhouse has a canteen, dining area and bar. There’s an outdoor viewing deck for guests, whilst wide windows in the clubhouse allow you to watch the action from inside. A large undercover grandstand caters for hundreds and grassy slopes surround the playing field providing a picturesque backdrop and allowing spectators to spread out and pick their own vantage point. 2018 NATIONAL FINALIST OF ‘CLUBBIES BEST CLUB FACILITY’ PRESENTED BY INSIDE SPORT MAGAZINE 6 2020 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES The club’s extensive junior program is headquartered at South Pine Sports Complex in the adjacent suburb of Brendale. In total the club has 5 full size pitches, 3 junior pitches and three smaller training areas. Our facilities accommodate up to 1500 players and are shared with NPL sister club Moreton Bay United. With over 3,000 games being played on ACE fields each season our facilities are visited by more than 160,000 people every year.r ACE has a view that facilities help define the image and level of professionalism of the club.
