DAYTON, OH - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team struggled from the field on Friday af- ternoon as the Bulls shot just 27.6% against Dayton as the Flyers defeated the Bulls, 72-59. Buffalo falls to 6-2 on the season with the loss.

Buffalo got off to a tough start to the contest, as the Bulls were outscored 17-8 in the first quarter, but the Bulls were able to get back into the game in the second as a three-pointer from sophomore Hanna Hall pulled UB back within 19-17 with 5:47 left. The Bulls would tie the contest up at 21-21 on a Theresa Onwuka layup with 4:23 left and UB would go on to take their first lead of the afternoon following free throws from Cierra Dillard. With Buffalo leading 27-26, the host Flyers went on an 8-0 run and took a 34-29 lead into the break.

Coming out of the break the teams traded blows in the third quarter as both sides were able to score 17 points each, as the Flyers took a 51-46 lead into the fourth quarter. Both teams went without a basket over the first two and a half minutes of the fourth and Buffalo was unable to score for nearly four minutes as an Onwuka layup pulled UB back within six.
