SEVEN DAYS INTERNATIONAL ONLINE WORKSHOP ON “COVID-19 and its Impact in India” Date : 21st to 27th July 2020 Time : 10.30 A.M. onwards Organised by IQAC, Chandidas Mahavidyalaya, Khjutipara, Birbhum (Affiliated to The University of Burdwan, Burdwan, West Bengal) In Collaboration with IQAC,Ananda Chandra College, Jalpaiguri (Affiliated toThe University of North Bengal, Darjeeling,West Bengal) Introduction: Covid-19 has created unprecedented impact upon every nook and corner of our society. Such type of calamity the globe hardly witnessed earlier. Returning to normalcy in near future is a million- dollar question. Adjustment occupies the centre stage of survival strategy. Life and livelihood come to the verge of collapse the spill-over effects of which can be felt in other parts of our life like health (physical and mental), economy, education, human rights and human dignity, tourism, judicial activities and administration etc. The health of the nature gets an opportunity to rejuvenate herself. Besides, there are some industrial sectors like IT, health and hygiene related products, insurance, online transaction etc get privileged position in this crisis situation. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME To generate awareness and open up the opportunity to research and academic pursuits among the academia in the following issues: ü COVID 19 and its impact on public health, ü Health care system in the changing scenario ü Changes in individual’s social, behavioral and psychological pattern ü Impact on the macro-economy of India ü Democratic politics in India and its future direction ü India and its International relationship ü Role of administration and the judiciary during crisis situation in our country ü Growing the importance of Online Teaching-learning system and its management ü Threats, challenges and opportunities in industrial sectors ü Impact on Library and ICT AREAS TO COVER 1. Professional Ethics About Chandidas Mahavidyalaya This college, named after the great medieval poet of Bengal, ‘CHANDIDAS’ and was founded in 1972 at the village of Khujutipara under Nanoor Police Station in the District of Birbhumof South Bengal.It isan under- graduate institutionand plays a constructive role to impart quality higher education to the rural populace specially the first generation with the vision to make them employable in a changing local and global scenario. This college has been accredited by NAAC in 2011 & 2016. It offers 13 General and Honours courses across 3 streams of Arts, Science & Commerce. Moreover, there are opportunity for several career-oriented courses.Very recently this college has been registered in the Local Chapter of SWAYAM-NPTEL. About Ananda Chandra College This college is situated at divisional town-Jalpaiguri in the foothills of eastern Himalaya. It has started her journey from the turbulent days of the Quit India Movement in 1942. This college has been successfully maintaining a balance between academic excellence and co-curricular activities over the decades. Presently the college has been accredited by NAAC with B++ grade. It offers Under Graduate General and Honours courses in twenty subjects in B.A and B. Sc. stream and P.G course in Bengali. In addition to these, this college runs two study centres namely Netaji Subhas Open University and Directorate of Distance Education, The University of Burdwan.
