Anderson’s Big Day Kanyia Anderson returned to his home state in a big way. The senior started the game with a big sack that forced a fumble. He would go on to finish the day with 2.5 sacks and five total tackles.

Second Half Shutout Towson’s defense settled into the game in the second half and kept the Tribe off the scoreboard. The defense held WM to just 112 yards and four first downs over the final 30 minutes.

Redshirt sophomore defensive back Monty Fenner was the inaugural winner of the Wardell Turner Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship honors Sergeant Major Wardell B. Turner who was Killed in Action on Novem- ber 24, 2014 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Sergeant Major Turner was serving in a NATO role advising Afghan security forces when his vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Towson University TOWSON, Md. -- football team scored 14 points in 1:12 in the fourth quarter for a 26-14 victory over William & Mary. The Tigers took the lead when Kobe Young scored from four yards out on the third play of the final stanza. The defense got the ball right back to the offense as Jamal Watson intercepted a pass near midfield and returned it 47 yards to the WM two yard line. On the next play, Ryan Stover kept the ball on the bootleg for the two-yard TD run. The Tiger defense helped Towson jump out to an early lead as Kanyia Anderson sacked the quarterback and forced a fumble. The offense took advantage as Ellis Knudson capped the drive with a one-yard rushing touchdown. Later in the quarter, freshman Coby Tippett returned a punt 62 yards for a touchdown. It was the first punt return for touchdown since 2015 and the first by a freshman in school history. The defense recorded four sacks and held the Tribe to just 102 yards and four first downs in the second half. Kanyia Anderson led the way with 2.5 sacks, while Tippett added 14 total tackles. Young paced the offense with 52 yards on the ground and 31 yards on three receptions.
