General Information DIOCESAN COAT OF ARMS GENERAL INFORMATION

The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw shield first Europeans as “Gens de Feu” (People of Fire). The shows the cross of our Faith in red on a silver six-pointed star in the center of the shield signi- field. To indicate the name “Saginaw,” there is a fies that Our Lady is of the House of David. The Pentecostal flame placed in each canton of the six-pointed star also represents her many heraldic shield, for this reason: the name of Saginaw Bay attributes and is usually shown to indicate the As- (Saginawa) signifies the country or place of the sumption.
