Diplomas and certificates will be distributed immediately after these exercises in front of the Addison Gallery. Senior women carry roses in the tradition of Abbot Academy. All guests, including individuals using cameras or video equipment, are asked to respect the integrity of the ceremonies by observing the string barriers during the Commencement Exercises and by remaining outside the circle and behind the seniors throughout the distribution of diplomas. The steps of the Addison Gallery are recommended for formal graduation photographs. The head of school and the faculty invite class members and their families to a reception on the Great Lawn by the Armillary Sphere or, if it rains, in the Memorial Gymnasium.
