Here is how it works: 1. Stabilization Services for individuals who may still be in need of medical supervision while recovering from acute withdrawal symptoms. 2. Rehabilitation Services to assist chemically addicted individuals with substantial deficits in functional skills and need residential treatment for up to one year or more. 3. Reintegration Services to help individuals with substance use disorders who are functional, in need of one to five months of short-term treatment and need help in getting back to their jobs, families, and communities. We are anticipating the expansion of both our properties to include Outpatient Services. Lastly we have been approved to offer Home and Community Based Services to individuals who are already in recovery and are in need of assistance with family counseling, vocational training, employment readiness and more. -

A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Honors in the Major Program in Music Performance in the College of Arts and Humanities and in The Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida Orlando, Florida Spring Term, 2019 Thesis Chair: Dr. Scott Warfield Co-chairs: Dr. Alexander Burtzos & Dr. Joe Gennaro ©2019 Gary Michael Bogers Jr. ii ABSTRACT In this thesis, I will discuss the importance of campaign songs and how they were used throughout three distinctly different U.S. presidential elections: the 1960 campaign of Senator John Fitzgerald Kennedy against Vice President Richard Milhouse Nixon, the 1984 reelection campaign of President Ronald Wilson Reagan against Vice President Walter Frederick Mondale, and the 2008 campaign of Senator Barack Hussein Obama against Senator John Sidney McCain. -
Marquetry on Drawer-Model Marionette Duo-Art
Marquetry on Drawer-Model Marionette Duo-Art This piano began life as a brown Recordo. The sound board was re-engineered, as the original ribs tapered so soon that the bass bridges pushed through. The strings were the wrong weight, and were re-scaled using computer technology. Six more wound-strings were added, and the weights of the steel strings were changed. A 14-inch Duo-Art pump, a fan-expression system, and an expression-valve-size Duo-Art stack with a soft-pedal compensation lift were all built for it. The Marquetry on the side of the piano was inspired by the pictures on the Arto-Roll boxes. The fallboard was inspired by a picture on the Rhythmodic roll box. A new bench was built, modeled after the bench originally available, but veneered to go with the rest of the piano. WXYC Brings You Gems from the Treasure of UNC's Southern
IN/AUDIBLE LETTER FROM THE EDITOR a publication of N/AUDIBLE is the irregular newsletter of WXYC – your favorite Chapel Hill radio WXYC 89.3 FM station that broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week out of the Student Union on the UNC campus. The last time this publication came out in 2002, WXYC was CB 5210 Carolina Union Icelebrating its 25th year of existence as the student-run radio station at the University of Chapel Hill, NC 27599 North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This year we celebrate another big event – our tenth anni- USA versary as the first radio station in the world to simulcast our signal over the Internet. As we celebrate this exciting event and reflect on the ingenuity of a few gifted people who took (919) 962-7768 local radio to the next level and beyond Chapel Hill, we can wonder request line: (919) 962-8989 if the future of radio is no longer in the stereo of our living rooms but on the World Wide Web. http://www.wxyc.org As always, new technology brings change that is both exciting [email protected] and scary. Local radio stations and the dedicated DJs and staffs who operate them are an integral part of vibrant local music communities, like the one we are lucky to have here in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Staff NICOLE BOGAS area. With the proliferation of music services like XM satellite radio Editor-in-Chief and Live-365 Internet radio servers, it sometimes seems like the future EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: Nicole Bogas of local radio is doomed. -
The Semiotics of Internet Celebrity: Gangnam Style Case
Paper The Semiotics of Internet Celebrity: Gangnam Style Case by © Mingyi Hou (Tilburg University) [email protected] © November 2013 The Semiotics of Internet Celebrity: Gangnam Style Case Mingyi Hou Abstract: In academia, celebrity study remains an ever growing interest, especially in media and culture studies. However, few researchers have expanded their scope of exploration to the celebrities who gain stardom across national and cultural borders. The current study considers Psy and his music video Gangnam Style as a site for examining globalized language and cultural contacts. Its primary concern is to investigate Internet celebrity in the context of multimodal media representation and superdiverse semiotic repertoires. The study identified lyrics, beats, dance gestures, characters, objects and places as the major semiotic modes of expression in the video. More meanings are added while they are produced into the materialized forms. Guided by the audiences’ replies to the journalistic commentaries on Gangnam Style, the study found that the music video is a heterogeneous construct, whose semiotic resources are ordered polycentricically to resonate with different audiences. Key words: Gangnam Style, Internet celebrity, semiotic resources, multimodal discourse analysis, online ethnography 1. Introduction The current research considers “Internet celebrity” as a site for studying globalized language and culture contact. Its primary concern is to investigate Internet celebrity from the perspective of superdiverse semiotic repertoire (Blommaert and Rampton, 2011). The first purpose of the research is to identify the various modes such as lyrics and place references employed in the music video. The second purpose is to discern the audiences’ interpretations of the contents of the video ethnographically. -
