This was first of its kind in India to address this issue with very high profile national and international speakers from INTERPOL, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, etc. They discussed the issue and various appropriate strategies and roadmap ahead on the subject. The workshop culminated in positive outcome of formation of a Joint Action Team. The distinguished speakers included Dr. Gulshan Rai. Director General, CERT IN, Government of India, Department of DeIT; Honorable Member of Parliament Mrs. Rajkumari Ratna Singh, Chairperson Parliament Committee on Women Empowerment; Mrs. Alka Lamba, Secretary, All India Congress Committee, along with participants from various Police forces, UN Organizations and Civic Societies. The team has discussed various dimensions of Child and Woman abuses particularly the high tech crimes using modern technologies. Founder CEO of DISC Foundation Mohamed Mustafa Saidalavi suggested how technology and collaboration can combat crime against women and child. Mr. Mohamed Mustafa Saidalavi is a Business Intelligence analyst by profession. He founded DISC Foundation (Developing Internet Safe Community) as part of his Personnel Social Responsibilities. Ms. Jennele from Toronto Police showed thousands of people who is have possessing child abused material on their Laptop in Delhi. We can get that report, So the need is to combat technological crime with technology. So there are technologies available. In future the joint action team job is to bring that technology. We should be equipped with that technology. There Developing Internet Safe Community Page 2 / 16 is also need for collaboration. INTERPOL have wonderful database. They can share information regarding child sex offender. Cambodia, Thailand and Philippines are well-known to be child sex tourism. Sex offenders use to travel to Thailand, or Philllipiens, as these place are well known to be sex offenders, but thanks to Interpol and collaboration. With help of INTERPOL now Cambodia is very Strong. As per the INTERPOL Intelligence the India can be the next target for phidophile particularly Child Sex Tourism and production of Child Pornographic materials (Child Abused Materials). India’s rural and remote area are high on risk. In old days it was just abasement but now it is a multi dimensional crime they go abused, videos and sell these materials on internet as part of the multibillion dollar industry. So that is more shocking. The most remarkable outcome of this event is the formation of a Joint Action Team to push the initiative from here onwards As quoted by the INTERPOL official "Unlike the other international events, This Indian event is most promising since it ended by forming Joint Action Team (JAT) to take the initiative further" The JAT would be lead as under: Chairperson: Hon'ble Mrs. Rajkumari RatnaSingh, Member of Parliament, Chairperson Parliament Committee on Women Empowerment. Vice Chairman: Shri Mustafa, CEO Disc Foundation Shri N.K. Goyal, President CMAI Association of India. President: Shri Rakshist Tandon, Consultant, IAMAI Core Committee: Mr. N Morris Babu, Inspector General of Police, Rajasthan Shri Vineet Kumar, CTO, Jharkhand Police, Ms. Senorita, Founder Human Achievers Foundation Dr. Malathi Subramanian, Ex Principal, Daulat Ram College, Delhi University Mrs Madhumita Kothari, Advocate Supreme Court Mr. PKM Swamy, Advocay Specialist Mr. Unmesh and Sonali Patankar / Ahaan Foundation Developing Internet Safe Community Page 3 / 16 Members: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Another positive outcome is that, the team has decided to mark the International Safer Internet Day (SID) 2014 on 11th of February. This is first of its kind to mark the SID as a national event. SID is an initiative of European Commission and DISC Foundation is the formal chapter to this event in India. A very comprehensive national strategy is yet to be engineered since the threats are exceptionally unique and fast evolving in its nature. There are Developing Internet Safe Community Page 4 / 16 several issues connected to the problem of crimes against women and children. It has been decided that the initial focus should be technology solutions for on line crimes. The plan is to have the following objectives to be met in 15 months (Dec- 2014) of time 1. A National Hotline Center in collaboration with http://www.INHOPE.ORG This will help us to remove child abused contents, Cyber bullies contents, etc from the Internet With the help of INTERPOL will be able to rescue the children if they are in captive situation (Nationally / Internationally) 2. Peer-to-Peer and TLO software implementation and Training for the Indian Law Enforcement Stakeholders Please recall Janelle RCMP presentation showing people from New Delhi who are possessing, distributing, potentially trading the very disturbing materials which Mr. Bob has showcased This software will help us to identify the IP address of the Internet users who are in this hideous crime. 3. Safer Internet Day 2014 SID will be celebrated in India first time as a national event on 11 February 2014. The strap-line for the campaign is “Let’s create a better Internet together”. http://www.saferinternetday.org, http://www.saferinternetday.org/web/india/ home If we managed to mark it broadly we will be the largest community than Europe to mark this prestigious event 4. We will target at least 15 % of the parents and 30% of Children in India to provide Safer Internet awareness during this tenure Mr. Rakshit will be able develop project plan in this regards We definitely have to do the Multiplier / Train the trainer programs to achieve this big number Content developments have to the first deliverable of this project, which we need to include modern communication methodologies Developing Internet Safe Community Page 5 / 16 like NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Team Centered Interaction, etc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szIoQ_8vMV4 Research Universities is where we get volunteer to do this tasks 5.
