On PC/Computer:

• Your saved places will only appear on the device on which you saved them. 1. Using Chrome on your computer, open Google . 2. On the upper left, click File . 3. Click Import. 4. Choose the location of the file you want to upload. Make sure that “All ” is selected on the lower right. 5. Select and open the KML file. A preview of the list will open in . 6. To keep these places in your list, click Save. The locations will be saved to My Places.

On iPhone & iPad:

1. Add KML Files to iCloud Drive

In order to view KML files in Google Earth, you must first save the files to the iCloud Drive.

Open Mail app and then open an email with any type of attachment (zip file, doc file, Pages file, Numbers file, txt, rtf, etc)

Tap and hold on the attachment icon that appears in the email body, it’s typically the name of the attachment file and shows a small icon of the attachments file type.

Choose “Save Attachment” with the iCloud icon, this saves the email attachment to iCloud.

Choose the iCloud Drive folder destination to save the email attachment to. Now the file has been saved from the email directly to iCloud Drive, which is accessible anytime from the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch home screen using the accompanying iOS app.

2. Install the Google Earth App from the App Store

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Earth app . 2. Tap Menu My Places. 3. At the bottom, tap Import KML file. 4. Select the KML file. 5. To return to the and view the KML file, tap Back .

On Android Device:

If you have a KML or KMZ file from an older version of Google Earth, you can open it in Google Earth for Android.

Note: Your saved places will only appear on the device you saved them on.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Earth app . 2. Tap Menu My Places. 3. At the bottom, tap Import KML file. 4. Choose the location of the file you want to upload. 5. Choose the file you want to add. 6. To return to the map and view the file, tap Back .
