Schaefer began laying the pieces of a championship foundation last sea- son in Starkville. He led the Bulldogs to SEC wins against Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas and Missouri before capping the year with a thrilling upset of No. 11 Georgia. Under his watch, Martha Alwal earned All-SEC honors and won the Gillom Trophy as a sophomore after leading the SEC in double-doubles, re- SEC STANDINGS bounding and blocked shots. He also added more stellar pieces to the Bulldog SEC OVERALL program as his first recruiting class rated as one of the best in program history. TEAM W L PCT. W L PCT.     Five players added to list of 'Wade Watch' hopefuls ATLANTA (Feb. 24, 2015) – The Wade Trophy Committee has added five additional student-athletes to the 2014-15 “Wade Watch” list, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), on behalf of the Wade Trophy Coalition, announced today. Joining the preseason list of 25 “Wade Watch” hopefuls are Ameryst Alston of Ohio State, Chastity Gooch of Western Kentucky, Niya Johnson of Baylor, Courtney Williams of South Florida and Amanda Zahui B. of Minnesota. The Wade Trophy Coalition presents The Wade Trophy to the nation’s most outstanding NCAA® Division I women’s basketball player each year – one who not only excels athletically, but also serves as a positive role model both on and off the court. The acclaimed Wade Watch list, from which The Wade Trophy recipient is chosen, consists of players selected on the basis of game and season statistics, leadership, character, overall playing ability and the positive impact on her respective team. The Wade Watch list will be trimmed to 12 finalists in mid-March.     Top High School Seniors Selected to Play in 2012 WBCA High School All-America Game presented by NIKE ATLANTA (Feb. 8, 2012) – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the participants for the 2012 WBCA High School All-America Game presented by NIKE on Wednesday. The nation's top 20 high school senior girls' basketball players have been selected to compete in the annual game. The 21st annual All-America Game, which is held as part of the WBCA National Convention, will be played Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Pepsi Center, in Denver, site of the 2012 NCAA® Women's Final Four®. Tipoff is 4:30 p.m. MT. For the third consecutive year, the game will be played on the official NCAA Women's Final Four court. The 20 players will be divided into two 10-player teams for the game, which will be played according to NCAA rules. "The 20 members of this year's High School All-America Team are the future of women's basketball," said WBCA CEO Beth Bass.
