PROPOSED 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER

The Council propose to consider the introduction of a Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a 30 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of the following roads.

A89 Coatbridge Road & A89 Road, Bargeddie

A89 Coatbridge Road and A89 Glasgow Road, from a point 17 metres or thereby west of the extended line of the western kerb of Oakridge Road, westwards to a point 395 metres west of the extended line of the western kerb of A752 Gartcosh Road, a distance of 1087 metres or thereby.

A752 Gartcosh Road, Bargeddie

A752 Gartcosh Road from its junction with A89 Coatbridge Road and A89 Glasgow Road, northwards for a distance of 47 metres or thereby.

A752 Langmuir Road, Bargeddie

A752 Langmuir Road from its junction with A89 Coatbridge Road and A89 Glasgow Road, south eastwards to a point 90 metres southeast of the extended line of the southern kerb of Rosebank Terrace, a distance of 753 metres or thereby.

As part of the proposed Order, the Strathclyde Regional Council (Restricted Roads) (Transitional) Order 1985 and the County Council of the County of Lanark (40 MPH Speed Limit) (No. 3) Order 1968 are to be amended, as detailed within Schedule 2 of the Order.

30 MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2011

The North Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order.

1. This Order may be cited as “The North Lanarkshire Council (A89 Coatbridge Road/A752 Langmuir Road/A752 Gartcosh Road, Bargeddie) (30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2011” and shall come into operation on Monday, the fifth day of September, Two thousand and eleven.

2. No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding thirty miles per hour on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule I to this Order.

3. The Strathclyde Regional Council (Restricted Roads) (Transitional) Order 1985 and The County Council of the County of Lanark (40 MPH Speed Limit) (No 3) Order 1968 are hereby amended, as detailed in Schedule 2 of the Order.
