Dear Kettleby Families! Parent Council Is Excited to Try a New Fundraising Initiative in Time for This Christmas Season Dear Kettleby Families! Parent Council is excited to try a new fundraising initiative in time for this Christmas season. We invite you to purchase giftcards through the VISTA VIP (Voucher Incentive Program) Fundraising Program. You can purchase these gift cards at face value through us and use them for your everyday household purchases and/or as Christmas gifts instead of cash, debit and credit cards. For every dollar you spend, a portion will benefit Kettleby Public School. For example, you order a $100 NHL gift card on the attached order form. You send payment in form of a cheque made out to Kettleby Public School in the amount of $100 along with the order form. You will receive a $100 NHL gift card. The school receives a 5% rebate; i.e. $5.00 will go towards the grade 7/8 class trip and other School Council initiatives such as technology purchases, playground equipment purchases etc. The amount of the rebate we receive depends on the retailer as outlined on the attached order form. Anyone can participate: families, singles, seniors, friends, relatives and your business, too. No minimum orders. Only order the gift cards that you need. There is absolutely no cost to you. You purchase the store gift cards from VISTA at face value and tender this at the participating retailers at face value. The only commitment is to use gift cards at the participating retailers instead of cash, debit or credit card for your household purchases. Most important of all… without spending an additional penny, you have just become an important part of raising funds for Kettleby Public School! HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE? STEP 1 Fill out the Order Form for the gift cards that you require and send it back to your child’s teacher along with payment by cheque or cash by Friday, November 28th. Please make cheques payable to Kettleby Public School. STEP 2 Your filled order will be ready for pick up at the school on Monday, December 8th between 3:30pm and 6pm. STEP 3 Use the gift cards instead of cash as gifts or for your household purchases. • Seafood Progress: Loblaw Retailer Snapshot
Loblaw - SeaChoice SEAFOOD PROGRESS: LOBLAW Legacy report of this retailer's Seafood Progress prole as published in August 2020. Report generated on: September 1st, 2020 REPORTING PERIOD July 2019 - August 2020 LOCATION Across Canada NUMBER OF STORES Almost 2,500 GROSS REVENUE $45.4 billion (2015) WEBSITE hp://www.loblaw.ca RETAILER SNAPSHOT Loblaw’s sustainable seafood commitment is that all seafood sold in its stores will be from sustainable sources. Loblaw dene this as sheries certied by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), farms certied by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or products certied by an equivalent standard, “acceptable sources with conditions, or sources making meaningful progress toward sustainability”. In 2019, Loblaw’s score for reporting progress against their procurement commitment increased as a result of their disclosure through Seafood Progress. Loblaw’s suppliers must sign a Code of Conduct that sets out mandatory minimum social responsibility standards and adherence to this Code is supported by independent, third party audits on all overseas suppliers. Loblaw is also commied to traceability for all its seafood products, by increasing the number of stores and distribution centers that have chain-of-custody certication (necessary for in-store labelling of MSC and ASC products) and by implementing a robust traceability system for non-eco- certied products. SeaChoice recommends that Loblaw re-introduce a description of its sustainable seafood program for customers in store, continue to improve its labelling by introducing information such as scientic name and harvest method on its fresh and private label seafood products, and its transparency by disclosing information about its product sourcing through initiatives like the Ocean Disclosure Project.
