Heavy winds on Wednesday morning made for an interesting morning at Denwood Motors in Wainwright. At about 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Wainwright Fire and Rescue responded to a call of a col- lapsed roof at the local vehicle dealership just off Highway 14.

Heavy winds tore the roof right off the Denwood Motors service bay, scattering insulation and building materials all around. Thank- fully nobody was injured inside the building, but the incident caused major damage to the facility. Wainwright Fire and Rescue were on the scene throughout the morning to assess and help clean up the dam- age. Staff members from Wainalta Motors and Wainwright Autobody quickly stepped up to help Denwood Motors staff move vehicles away from the building to avoid damage from debris. Photo: Roger Holmes

Notes for Nickels Project collects $1,500 for CT scanner

This past winter the music studio composed of 35 students ranging in ages from 5-17 and working on piano levels from group MYC program (Music For Young Children) to Grade 7 Conservatory were encouraged to find sponsors that would pledge to give a nickel for each minute of practice over an eight-week period. In addition to the Notes for Nickels pledges, many students received a one time donation and together the students were able to raise $1,500 over the eight-week focus. Pictured left, Rachelle Wood from MYC presented Grant Mills from the CT scanner fundraising committee with the donation of $1,500. Submitted photo
