Summary Background In Dec 2017 the board approved £1.497m of Local Growth funds to support an improvement project at Cheltenham Spa Railway Station. To date we have been unable to finalise a funding agreement with GWR due to challenges with agreeing certain terms (in relation to the unique way that assets are ‘owned’ under the franchise arrangements and a lack of sufficient detail until recently on the detail of the scheme and associated costs). The scheme in total was presented as 4 main elements funded from a number of sources - improvements to the station forecourt to improve pedestrian safety and vehicle movements and enhance the public realm an increase of at least 70 car parking spaces by the installation of a single decked car-park DDA compliant lifts to both platforms to provide full accessibility to the station Enhanced provision for cyclist users of the station, including a minimum of 300 secure cycle storage spaces and a shared cycle/pedestrian access ramp from Landsdown Road into the station Page 1 of 3 Agenda Item 6 The enhanced cyclist user provision was to be funded from a funding award of £833k from the DfT Cycle Rail fund which GWR had bid for and won in order to enhance the total scheme.

Metier was a decent performer on the flat in Ireland and has progressed from race to race over hurdles since moving to Harry Fry. He is a strong stayer who performs well on soft ground. It is taken as fact that the course will be prepared to ride no firmer than Good to Soft on the opening day. Soaring Glory showed marked improvement when impressively winning the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury. He appears to be less dependent on ground conditions than Metier and looks sure to figure. On soft ground Grumpy Charlie could run better than his odds suggest if allowed to take his chance. Despite not being totally straightforward, he is improving with racing experience. DMC: At the start of the season, it looked like Appreciate It was going to be Willie Mullins’ Ballymore Hurdle horse, and that Ferny Hollow was going to be his Supreme Novices’ Hurdle horse.

In 2018 we had a new parish structure and a new clergy team. In 2019, we came before God to seek a new vision for West Cheltenham. At the time we had no idea how prophetic this was, and how God was starting to prepare us for what was about to happen – turning our churches inside out. God gave us a vision: People and places buzzing with the extraordinary presence of Jesus. The restrictions and demands due to COVID–19 seem to have accelerated what God was already doing and where He is leading us. We have moved away from a model of church where we run meetings in our own buildings and try and get as many people as possible to attend, to one where we are looking to encourage and empower people to find and experience the Holy Spirit in their everyday lives and circumstances.
