Below are just a few of our favourite hand-picked hotels and apartments in, or near, Edinburgh. The Howard is three Georgian townhouses (circa 1820) merged together and elegantly appointed with old world elegance. The hotel is so discreet that passers-by may not notice a hotel there at all. The Howard sits at 34 Great King Street, 5 minutes from George Street and Princes Street. Great King Street is a gorgeous old cobbled street in Edinburgh’s New Town. Every guest has a Dedicated Butler who will tend to your every need – from unpacking your bags and serving afternoon tea in the Drawing Room to co- ordinating your social itinerary to serving a three-course dinner in your suite. Hotel Missoni is a 5-Star wonder on the corner of George IV Bridge. What was once a dreary council office block is one of the most stylish hotels in the world. The Missoni family are designers from Italy and their creations have been used to great effect throughout the hotel. The colours, textiles and patters are bold and bright. But don’t worry if you feel a little over awed by the style and fashion, the staff are wonderfully friendly and extremely helpful. The Scotsman is an iconic and baronial styled hotel overlooking the very centre of Edinburgh. This is where The Scotsman newspaper was once written, edited and published. The decor is warm, bold and inviting. The 56 bedrooms and 13 Suites are each different in shape, interior design and size. The common thread throughout all the rooms is the use of genuine Scottish Estate tweeds as part of the interior design. On top of the hotel’s fantastic restaurant and spa facilities, you’ll also find a private cinema to enjoy. Prestonfield House Hotel is a uniquely quirky and luxurious reworking of this baroque mansion - originally built as the imposing home of Edinburgh’s Lord Provost . Guests will discover every modern convenience – from WiFi to plasma screens – hidden behind the velvet and silk upholstered walls of its 22 individually designed boudoir-like rooms and suites. Bordello-chic style combines with the wonderful antique contents of the house, tapestries, artwork and antiques with specially commissioned furniture. 3 The Luxury & Boutique Guide To Edinburgh Call 0131 208 3345 Or Email [email protected] To BOOK YOUR LUXURY ACCOMMODATION The Balmoral stands at 1 Princes Street and hotels don’t get more iconic than this.
