Time (from top of Richmond Hill) Winton 15 mins. Moordown 20 minutes. Pare from either The Square or top of Richmond Hill, 2d. A Waiting Room is provided at the top of Richmond Hill as passengers for Moordown have 5 minutes to wait. Passengers to Winton only, can proceed by the Holden- hurst Road Car changing at Cemetery Junction, where the Lansdowne to Winton Car connects. The route as far as the Cemetery Junction is the same as that taken by the Square to Heron Court and Capstone Road Cars previously described. It then turns to the left along Wimborne Road, on the left is Meyrick Park Crescent giving access at the bottom to Meyrick Park and on the right through the posts to . There are also two other entrances to these Woods a little past Meyrick Park Crescent. The Talbot Woods are the property of the Earl of Leven and Melville. They are thrown open to the public freely. They consist mostly of pine trees, with a considerable sprinkling of holly. They are of great extent reaching from Wimborne Road to very nearly the Upper Pleasure Gardens, a direct walk through the Woods takes from 20 minutes to half an hour. There are well defined roads, and the Railway must be crossed by one of the three bridges. After crossing the bridge, by bearing to the left entrances will be found in the iron pallisade admitting to Meyrick Park ; by bearing to the right a way out by a Lodge leads to the Upper Pleasure Gardens ; continuing up the Prince of Wales road the pedestrian comes out at the back of the Westbourne Congregational Church at County Gates, .close to the car. • Skirting the side of Talbot Woods the car bears round to the right and stops at the Bank loop. On the left is Talbot Road leading direct to Talbot Village and , situate on a breezy tableland. Proceeding through the broad busy thoroughfare Peter's Hill is reached. Only the cars for Moordown proceed beyond this. On the right will be seen the .Congregational Church, and on the left the Wesleyan 46 Wnerott TO MOORDOWN. Chapel, just beyond on the left is the Winton Branch Library, another of Mr. A. Carnegie's gifts. We soon run into more open country and passing St. John's Church (formerly known as St. John's in the Wilderness) on the left the terminus is soon reached. After alighting a pleasant country stroll is to continue along the Wimborne Road as far as Redhill. A short cut can be taken by going through the turn- stile on the left, crossing the fields and Redhill Common. Immediately after reaching the main road on the opposite side will be seen a lane, which leads to Marshall's Tea Gardens ; here, on a lawn by the banks of the River Stour, excellent teas can be obtained. To reach Parley cross the River Stour by the ferry, turn to the left along the river bank and a short walk will bring you to the old world village of West Parley. The Church is worth inspec- tion. At the east end built into the wall and covered with a glass plate is a large Stone Urn, containing the heart of the Lady of Lydlinch, who is supposed to have been the daughter of a West Parley farmer, and whose benefactions to the Church were numerous. THE LANSDOWNE TO THE CEMETERY & WINTON. Time about zo minutes. Fare to the Cemetery 1d. Fare to Winton 2d. This service starts from the Lansdowne end of Road.
