The Eagle of Saladin is the national symbol of Egypt. The in its current form was adopted on October 4, 1984. It depicts Egypt’s national emblem, the Eagle of Saladin (a shield superimposed on a golden eagle above a scroll bearing the name of the country in Arabic), centered in the white band of the three equal horizontal bands of red (top), white, and black.

The coat of arms of Egypt is the Eagle of Saladin. The eagle’s claws hold a panel (or scroll) bearing the country’s name.

The coat of arms of the Palestine National Authority is also the Eagle of Saladin.

Key Understanding #2: Two entities that signed accords with Israel as part of the Middle East peace process – Egypt with Israel in the September 17, 1978, Camp David Accords, and the Palestine Liberation Organization with Israel in the September 13, 1993, Declaration of Principles accord – are closely linked with the Eagle of Saladin. [Both accords were a part of a counterfeit fulfillment of part b of Isaiah 44:28, as we will be discussing further on.] The September 13, 1993, accord led to the creation of the Palestine National Authority, which was an interim organization created to administer a limited form of Palestinian self-governance in the Palestinian territories for a period of five years, during which final-status negotiations were supposed to take place.

Saladin united the Arabs from Damascus to Cairo. His great victory over the Christian crusaders came
