James Meadows is a country singer/songwriter and Nashville Recording Artist who currently resides in Abingdon, VA. He originally grew up an hours drive north of Abingdon deep in the Appalachian James Meadows May 29, 2014 Mountains near Grundy, VA. While in college he was involved with the ETSU Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music program where he played in many bands featuring top notch talent from all over the world. Formed about two years ago, Duty Free features five well-known locals who all perform with other groups, but started picking together for fun. Duty Free performs at many prestigious venues, such June 3, 2014 Duty Free as the Rhythm and Roots Reunion and the Paramount Center for the Arts in Bristol, the Renaissance Center and Funfest in Kingsport, Tenn. The group also has been featured on Studio One of public radio station WETS-FM 89.5 out of Johnson City, Tenn.
