To find out more about our international provision, please visit www.highfieldabc.ae Digital Provision

At Highfield we are a great supporter of the recommendations set out by the Further Education Learning Technology Action Group (FELTAG) with regards to digital provision for learners. Each year we aim to further improve our digital resources to help further develop learners. Our developments include e-assessment, e-learning, electronic resources and e-certification.

e-assessment

➜ Highfield’s e-assessment system has been created to allow candidates to sit multiple-choice examinations electronically, replacing the need for paper-based assessments. The system has been specifically designed to work across a range of devices, including tablets and desktops, with minimal setup requirements. Its interaction with the Highfield Central system means administration of examinations and the management of learners can be carried out through the same processes that our centres are familiar with.

➜ When it comes to examinations, the versatility of e-assessment supports invigilators and learners. Learners are able to view questions in any order they wish, flag questions, select different text sizes or change colour schemes. Provisional results can be provided to learners at the end of the examination if required. Results are then submitted directly to Highfield, meaning they can be processed quickly, leading to a faster certification turnaround. 59

e-learning

➜ In 1999 Highfield e-learning became the first company to offer a comprehensive interactive food safety e-learning programme. Over a decade later we continue to provide groundbreaking e-learning solutions to some of the world’s most recognisable companies, including PepsiCo, Marks & Spencer and Morrisons. Highfield e-learning solutions have also been developed to support Highfield qualifications in a number of sectors including health and social care, customer service, logistics, stewarding and spectator safety. ➜ For more information, please visit www.highfieldelearning.com

e-kits

➜ Highfield-kits are now available in an editable PDF format. This allows the kit’s content to be accessed through a PC or tablet. Assessment workbooks can be completed and submitted electronically to tutors for marking. The kit’s content can be used as part of an e-portfolio system. E-kits are available for all Highfield intermediate apprenticeship frameworks as well as a number of stand-alone qualifications. E-kits can also be utilised in pre-employment and traineeship programmes.

e-certificates

➜ Highfield is making certificates available in an electronic format for centres to create and store as required. Learners and centres will be able to access certificates electronically as well as receiving hard copies. If you are interested in using e-assessment, e-kits or e-certificates, please contact your account manager directly. Highfield CPD Events

Each year Highfield holds a host of subject-specific Our events are delivered by subject matter experts CPD events around the country to support its new and and/or members of the Highfield team who have existing qualifications. particular expertise in the subject being discussed at the event. These events are a great way for us to talk through qualifications and how they can be delivered or provide trainers with additional knowledge to enhance their subject expertise. Highfield is a regulated awarding organisation offering a wide choice of qualifications across a range of subject areas. These qualifications are available in a variety of formats to suit employers’ and learners’ needs. The three classifications are as follows:

Highfield-Regulated Qualifications

➜ Recognised by a relevant regulatory body, such as Ofqual, Qualifications Wales or SQA Accreditation, and awarded by Highfield ➜ Instantly recognised, providing standardised best practice ➜ Supported by the relevant industry and sector skills council.

Highfield International-Only Qualifications

➜ Qualifications that provide an alternative to UK-based provision that can be tailored to meet local needs ➜ Awarded directly by Highfield and developed by industry experts ➜ Available for recognised Highfield centres to deliver abroad

Highfield-Endorsed Course Programmes

➜ Course programmes that are usually written by a centre and endorsed by Highfield ➜ Endorsement provides evidence that a course programme is quality assured in its delivery and design ➜ This option provides centres with the flexibility to meet individual employer’s needs with the reassurance of intellectual property rights protection, as this course programme is only available to the centre that develops it

Course Finder Plus is an online search facility that allows learners to search for their nearest training provider delivering Highfield qualifications. Course Finder Plus allows learners to search by subject area, course title, address (or part thereof – meaning they can just enter their town/city or postcode), and desired course dates. Once all search criteria have been inputted, a list of potential courses will be suggested to the learner.

Course Finder Plus is available directly through the Highfield website via the home page and we thoroughly recommend that all of our approved centres populate it by adding their course details.

This service is not only a great promotional tool for our approved centres, but is also completely free to use. Yet another benefit of being a Highfield centre.
