Back by popular demand…Marquette University’s Homecoming tradition will reignite in fall of 2016! Marquette students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and community members are invited to join us for a week- long series of Homecoming events. Partake in the fun, enjoy great food, experience some hearty competition and create lifelong memories during Homecoming 2016. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Sunday, October 2, 2016 Women’s Soccer vs. St. John’s | 1:00 p.m., Valley Fields Kick-off Homecoming week by cheering on your Marquette women’s soccer team at Valley Fields as they play St. John’s. Monday, October 3, 2016 Hot Cookie Night at Cobeen Hall | 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Cobeen Hall Experience one of Marquette’s tastiest traditions. Enjoy a hot cookie, ice cream and milk. This is a free event; no meal plan required to gain access into the residence hall cafeteria. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 “Stuff the Truck” Food Drive | 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Westowne Square Hunger Task Force, Campus Kitchens Project, and Sodexo will host a “Stuff the Truck” food drive. The Marquette community is asked to bring nonperishable items to donate. The goal is to collect 1,000 pounds of food. Tuesday Night Mass | 10:00 p.m., Joan of Arc Chapel The Marquette community is invited to gather for Tuesday night Mass at the Joan of Arc Chapel – a tradition at the heart of Marquette’s campus. Following Mass, join the reception in the surrounding garden area. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 Women’s Volleyball vs. Xavier | Noon, Al McGuire Center Looking for a mid-day break in the middle of the week? Support your women’s volleyball team as they battle Big East rival Xavier. Men’s Soccer vs. Wisconsin | 7:00 p.m., Valley Fields Marquette will be looking for its third-straight win over in-state rival Wisconsin; you are encouraged to attend and make Valley Fields an intimidating place for the Badgers to play. Glow BINGO | 8:30 – 10:00 p.m., Central Mall Join the Marquette community for a special game of glow-in-the-dark BINGO with exclusive Homecoming week prizes. Hosted by the Residence Hall Association. Thursday, October 6, 2016 Alumni and Student Speed Networking Event | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., Marquette Campus Students will have an opportunity to connect with Marquette alumni in a “speed networking” format to learn from leading industry professionals and gain important networking skills. Marquette’s Got Talent | 7:30 p.m., Marquette Campus The Marquette community is invited to showcase their special talents and perform live for the entire campus. Friday, October 7, 2016 Block Party | 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Parking Lot F (across from the Al McGuire Center) Enjoy music, food and friends as we get ready to kick off Marquette Madness. Bed Races | 3:00 p.m., 12th Street (between Wisconsin Avenue and Wells Street) Ready. Set. Race! Gather a team of friends to compete or cheer on your fellow classmates as they race down 12th Street. Prizes awarded for fastest team and best team costume. Knockout Basketball Game | 4:00 p.m., 12th Street (between Wisconsin Avenue and Wells Street) Become part of history as the Marquette nation gathers to beat the Guinness World Record of 701 participants for the largest game of knockout basketball. Marquette Madness | 7:00 p.m., Al McGuire Center Marquette University men's and women's basketball fans will get their first look at the 2016-17 teams when the programs host the annual Marquette Madness event in the Al McGuire Center. Marquette Craftness | 9:00 p.m., Marquette Campus Activate your artistic side and gather with fellow Marquette students for a night of crafting after Marquette Madness. Spread the Marquette spirit and camaraderie with Marquette-themed crafts. Saturday, October 8, 2016 Blue and Gold Color Run | 11:00 a.m., Marquette Campus Get ready for a burst of blue and gold as the Marquette nation takes to the streets of campus for a 5k run and walk. Proceeds from this event will support Marquette’s Midnight Run program, a volunteer service program focused on the particular needs of the hungry and homeless people living in the community around Marquette. Fall Carnival | 2:00 p.m., Marquette Campus Golden Eagles of all ages are invited to join the fall carnival on Marquette’s campus featuring carnival rides, games, food and more. Homecoming Concert | 7:00 p.m., Central Mall Stay tuned to learn what major musical act will be rocking Marquette’s campus for Homecoming. Sunday, October 9, 2016 Homecoming Mass | 11:30 a.m., Marquette Campus Join us for a special Homecoming Mass as we close out the week of celebration and Marquette spirit. .
