I am directed by the Secretary of State to say that consideration has been given to the report of Mr Philip Major, BA (Hons) DipTP MRTPI, who made a site visit on 21 December 2015 and considered your appeal against the decision of Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council to refuse planning permission for the installation of 1 No small scale 85kW Endurance E4660 wind turbine (36.55m to blade tip) at land at Green Holes Farm, Coal Gate Lane, Soyland, Halifax, in accordance with application ref: 14/01464/FUL, dated 6 December 2014. 2. • C9 Collection
C9 COLLECTION O W N E R ’ S H A N D B O O K TIME ON YOUR SIDE... Your Christopher Ward watch has been designed and engineered by highly talented craftspeople to ensure not only accurate and precise timekeeping but also to bring a real pride of ownership that only luxury items of the highest quality can ever hope to deliver. You have made an investment, a good one, and the aim of this handbook is to help you make the most of that investment during what I hope will be a lifetime of ownership. Christopher Ward 1 JOHN HARRISON WATCHMAKER John Harrison was born in 1693 in Foulby, West Yorkshire and lived for most of his life in Barrow upon Humber. He became a carpenter, like his father, was a gifted musician and a self-taught watchmaker, creating his first timepieces entirely out of wood. He moved to London in the 1750s, at the height of his development of his “sea watches” and died in the capital in 1776. The ship’s chronometers were rediscovered at the Royal Greenwich Observatory in the mid-20th century and restored. Today the H1, H2, H3 and H4 are on display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. The H5 is owned by the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers, and is displayed in the Clockmaker’s Museum in London’s Guildhall. 2 THE LONGITUDE SOLUTION In 1760 horologist John Harrison took his 1735 invention of the Marine Chronometer to a higher level by making it portable in the form of a pocket watch - his H4 was effectively the first precision watch and the true ancester of the Christopher Ward collection.

  • Station Travel Plan - Barnetby Introduction
Station Travel Plan - Barnetby Introduction What is a Station Travel Plan? The Department for Transport defines a Station Travel Plan as: “A strategy for managing the travel generated by your organisation, with the aim of reducing its environmental impact, typically involving support for walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing”. TransPennine Express maintains Station Travel Plans for all 19 stations where they are currently the Station Facility Owner (SFO). Why Develop a Station Travel Plan? Up until March 2020 demand for rail continued to grow, with more and more people choosing to travel by rail each year. It is predicted that, post the COVID-19 pandemic, within the next 30 years demand for rail will more than double. TransPennine Express is at the heart of this growth, with double digit percentage growth in passenger journeys year on year historically, with a doubling of customer numbers since the franchise was established in 2004. With growth of this magnitude, it is important that alongside investing in new trains, operating more services and enhancing the customer experience, we are considerate of how customers travel to and from the station to access the railway network. Against the landscape of a changing culture towards private transport, with many millennials choosing not to own a car, and instead adopt solutions such as Uber, dockless bike hire and car sharing schemes, a Station Travel Plan allows operators to identify the developments which are required to keep pace with society. It also allows us to identify key areas of change, with the evident shift from internal combustion to electric cars and hybrids, we are able to set out plans for providing the infrastructure to support this shift.

By 1700 the occupational structure indicates exceptional industrialisation. The study examines developments as additional products were introduced, each with distinct origins and technology, and industry transferred from cottages to factories.

  • Calderdale MBC Wards Affected All Cabinet 1St October 2018 7 2018/19 Winter Maintenance
Calderdale MBC Wards Affected All Cabinet 1st October 2018 7 2018/19 Winter Maintenance Joint Report of Director for Regeneration and Strategy and Director for Public Services 1. Purpose of Report 1.1 Changes in the Highway Maintenance Code of Good Practice suggest that Local Highway Authorities should consider a body of evidence in order to calculate “risk” and in light of that calculation, determine an appropriate level of treatment in mitigation. 1.2 Winter gritting is a vital service in Calderdale and there is a need to hone the service to meet resident and business needs. 2. Need for a decision 2.1 This report contains the current list of treatable roads and in broad terms proposes to continue to treat the extensive established list of 1,135 treatable roads in Calderdale (67% of the network). It indicates that a small number of roads (which have had some treatment in the past) cannot be treated due to impediments to safe gritter access and these are listed. 2.2 The report gives details of a proposed highway hierarchy within Calderdale and suggests appropriate levels of treatment in accordance with the above. 2.3 The report describes the intervention levels that will apply for precautionary gritting. 2.4 Council Officers are now seeking permission from Cabinet to implement the actions identified as above. 3. Recommendation It is recommended: 3.1 that Members are requested to agree the winter policy described in paragraphs 5.3 and 5.4 and appendices 1-4. 4. Background and/or details 4.1 The United Kingdom Roads Liaison Group published its Code of Practice 'Well-managed Highway Infrastructure' on 28 October 2016.
