Thanks to these activities on European level, Artur Takac was in 1966 appointed advisor to the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games in Mexico. Even if he was far away from Europe, he remained fully involved in the Constitution of the European Athletics Association in 1970 and in the matches Europe vs. USA. His knowledge of many languages and his re- markable diplomatic skills were extremely useful in bridging the East/West relations during the Cold War.
