Virtual Jayanti Celebration

(151th Birth Anniversary Celebration of ) “My religion is based on the truth and non-violence truth is my god. Non- violence is the means of realising him.” ’s 3rd National Festival Gandhi jayanti was celebrated at Prerna International School, for grades 1st to 10th with great zeal, fervor and patriotism to commemorate the 151th birth anniversary of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhiji. On this auspicious occasion of Gandhi jayanti we organized virtual special assembly, cleanliness drive and elocution competition for the student of grades 3rd to 5th. 1) Elocution competition:- “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of other”. Mahatma Gandhi is the apostle of peace, truth and non-violence. He is revered the world over as one of the history’s most transformative and inspiration figures. He was the greatest leader of the world a fearless warrior, an unarmed soldiers and the follower of . Even the challenging times of covid-19 pandemic, did not deter the students of classes III to V of Prerna International School from paying a digital tribute to the father of the nation, fondly remembered as . In addition to above remarkable celebration, young ambassadors became a part of Gandhi Jayanti via Elocution competition from their homes and propagated Gandhian thoughts, principles ,values and ideas by reciting beautiful quotes, poems and speeches. The students worked hard and put up a great show, reminding one and all to keep the values of truth, peace and Non – violence alive and pay a real tribute to Gandhiji.

2) Virtual special assembly :- Mahatma Gandhi or more lovingly known as Bapu by all Indians is internationally acknowledged for his doctrine of Non–violence that led to India to its glorious freedom. 2nd October every year is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti the story of his life has impacted humanity of its core. To revere this day, the students and teachers of Prerna International School held a special assembly to commemorate the Mahatma’s life and teaching on 1st October. The students and teachers started the virtual assembly by chanting ‘Gayatri Mantra’ followed up by school prayer and speech depicting the ideologies shared by Mahatma Gandhiji. All our students were imbued with Gandhian values and thoughts and vowed to become berths citizens of India and this world. The assembly was finally concluded with the teachers led choir sung Gandhi’s favourite ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ with full embrace.

3) Cleanliness Drive:- ‘Cleanliness often begins at home and ends there.’ But one needs to change that and what better day than the 151th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the fourth anniversary of the ‘Swacch Bharat Mission’ to take a pledge of our surroundings green and clean. ‘Ek Kadam Swacchata Ki Aur’ with this quote on Gandhi Jayanti Students started their day with a goal to support Gandhiji’s view on swacchata. They cleaned their houses as a part of Sawacchata Mission in virtual class of Gandhi Jayanti celebration.
