Art Trail Map AE X MC FINAL 210504 ENCOUNTER ART AT MARINA CENTRAL BY ART OUTREACH Embark on an epic multisensory art trail at the #heartofmarina with Art Encounters by Art Outreach, a non-profit organisation that supports visual arts practitioners and promotes visual art. This unique presentation series captures the art-making process within repurposed shipping containers. Now in its fourth edition, Art Encounters features an installation by local textile artist Natalia Tan titled “Into Softer Worlds”. Visit three unique containers located around the precinct, and take part in an array of fun art activities. This art trail also highlights 8 iconic outdoor sculptures by artists from around the world! Begin at Marina Square’s outdoor walkway, ART ENCOUNTERS along Raffles Avenue, and find the Art Encounters welcome gallery. Watch videos of past editions and view an installation of upcycled rattan chairs. Walk over to South Beach, known for its signature microclimatic wave-like canopy, to discover artworks by international artists such as CraterCorten (2012) – the corten steel sculpture by Arik Levy from Israel; Joie De Vivre Heroic (2012) – three Baroque spiraled figures in a pristine dance of music and light by California-based Richard Macdonald; or immerse yourself in Drifting Clouds –Epheremal Beauty (2016) by Australian artist B. Jane Cowie. While you are here, be mesmerized by the whimsical textile art installations by Natalia Tan and Alysha Rahmat Shah, from 6 May. Stroll along Temasek Boulevard and Raffles 02 Boulevard to find Abundance III (1995), the 04 giant bronze ring by Singapore-based sculptor SOUTH BEACH TOWER and painter Sun Yu-li.
