Their names are familiar, because they have made an impact on football at all levels of the game — high school, college, and professional. They belong to the Falcons' Nest of Coaches, an organization created in 1984 for the purpose of promoting the proud tradition of Bowling Green Falcon football. Through the develop- Jerry Berndt Ron Blackledge Larry Smith ment of student and graduate- assistant programs at Bowling Green, most of these coaches got their start at this Mid-American Conference in- stitution. They've studied and matured under the coaching philosophies of Warren Steller, Robert Whittaker, , Bob Falcons' Nest Gibson, Don Nehlen, and , to name a few. Today, they are making a name for themselves and for their respective football programs around the coun- 3] of Coaches try. Though they may be miles apart, they share at least one thing in com- mon.
