Draft Ipswich Planning Scheme 2019 Statement of Proposals 3.7 Local Area Frameworks 3.7.1 Preliminary (1) The Ipswich Local Government Area has been divided into thirty local area strategic planning units based on geographically identifiable communities of interest (areas with identifiable boundaries and within which there are broad land use and planning commonalities) to which individual Local Area Frameworks apply. (2) The thirty Local Area Frameworks provide a more detailed spatial expression of the policies included in the Whole of City Strategic Framework (refer to sections 3.1 to 3.6) for each of the local area strategic planning units by: (a) including a description of the geographic extent of the strategic planning unit to which the Local Area Framework applies; (b) identifying the Valuable Features in the area that are of significance and are to be protected; (c) identifying the most significant Development Constraints that impact on development in the area and that need to be considered and addressed in allocating precincts and for development assessment; (d) setting out the Growth Management outcomes that are to be delivered in the area; (e) identifying the key Infrastructure that needs to be delivered to support growth and development in the area; (f) showing the preferred use of land in the area by including each property in a land use precinct designation; and (g) where there are different development options (including for example building heights, lot sizes, dwelling densities or different land uses) for an area or individual -

The Project involves the construction and operation of an underground toll road (tunnel) between the Western Freeway, in Toowong, and the Inner City Bypass (ICB), at Kelvin Grove. The study focuses on air quality impacts arising from the Project. The study has attempted to answer the following questions: • How would air quality change as a result of the Project? • How do the air quality impacts of the Project compare with the “do nothing” case? • Would the Project achieve compliance with air quality goals? Computer-based dispersion modelling has been used as the primary tool to assist with the assessment. Various existing and future scenarios have been simulated and compared in order to gain a greater understanding of the likely impacts that the Project would have on the local air quality. From the assessments that have been undertaken the following conclusions were drawn: • Pollutant concentrations in the study area in future years (2014+), arising from motor vehicles, would be expected to be similar to existing (2007) concentrations. This is the case both with and without the Project. • Model results for future years are considered to be conservative since no further improvements to vehicle emissions have been taken into account. -

Regional Road Inspection Tour December 2009 <<Insert image here>> Document description South Western Queensland and North / North Western and Central Queensland RACQ Regional Road Inspection Tour 2009 Introduction In August/September 2009 the RACQ Traffic & Safety Department undertook a road inspection tour of major Queensland highways in the North, Central and Southern Queensland. The tour included meetings with representatives at Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) offices in the regions to gain a better understanding of issues and current condition of the National and State road network in these areas. It also provided the opportunity to better comprehend the difficulties of building and maintaining roads in harsh weather and inferior soil conditions. General measurements were taken of traffic lanes, shoulders and clear zones. Visual assessments of the roads such as pavement condition, delineation, ride comfort and presence of roadside hazards were recorded together with observational surveys of traffic mix. These were logged and are discussed in greater detail within the main report. The data collected, with the knowledge and understanding of relevant local issues gained, together with the fact that RACQ experts were „on-site‟, generated a great deal of media interest and community feedback throughout both tours. This project was reliant on input from a vast number of individuals from a wide area, their cooperation and contribution to the project is greatly appreciated. i Executive Summary Lippia occurs predominantly on the clay soil floodplains of the inland river system in the 500- 800mm annual rainfall zone of Queensland and NSW, although it is present in varying density within each of the 19 catchments Murray Darling Basin. The worst affected catchments are the Condamine, Border Rivers, Gwydir, Namoi, Lachlan, Murrumbidgee and the Murray. Lippia is currently estimated to be distributed across at least 5% of the Murray Darling Basin occurring across a total area in the order of 5.3 million hectares. The spread of Lippia appears to be clearly related to flood events. Many farmers, particularly south of the Queensland border, stated that Lippia has become a problem since specific flood events. In the Gwydir region the Lippia population increased markedly following the 1996 flood and again after the 1998 floods. -
