CONTRIBUTIONS OFF THE BENCH: Eastern Michigan’s bench is averaging 22.5 points and 19.6 rebounds per game. The Eagle reserves have outscored six of their first eight opponents this season, including Idaho State by a 38-14 count, Nov. 27. EMU is 4-2 this season when its reserves outscore the opposition, and conversely 0-2 when it does not. The two biggest contributors off the bench are juniors Sarah VanMetre and Annie Malatinsky, who have accounted for 102 of Eastern’s 180 total bench points (56.7 %).

NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS: The Eagles have recorded one of the most successful non-league stretches in school history. Since the beginning of the 2002- 03 season, EMU has posted 30 victories in non-league games, the second-best of THE SUZY MERCHANT FILE any MAC school.
