International National State Institution 1 Level (ii) Themes Workshop titled "Quality Assurance in Higher Education" in March, 2017 2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC • The IQAC comprises of Teachers-in-Charge and other administrative officials who work in tandem to prepare the academic calendar prior to the commencement of the session. Page 4 AQAR 2016 - 17 • Department budgets and activities are discussed before being sent for approval by the Governing body. The Departments submit the same in a prescribed format, which is then compiled and tabled. • The IQAC laid down norms for department activities and meetings and specified that all activities should be organised in the second half of the semester/ month/ day so that there is minimal disturbance of the teaching schedule. • The IQAC was also emphatic that all such activities should be organised keepings students' needs in mind. • Student Feedback after any such activity must be sought in order to plan the next. • As per the initiative of IQAC, departments have been regularly analysing paper wise results along with follow up remedial measures. • Administrative Staff were encouraged to organise and participate in skill upgradation and training programmes. 2.15 Plan of Action by IQAC / Outcome The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the year 2016-17 Plan of Action Achievements Regular Result analysis Departments analysed paper wise results within a month of result declaration and submitted follow up remedial measures. Advance Planning of Academic The IQAC deliberated upon the academic Calendar calendar and asked departments to submit their activity calendar keeping in mind that there should be minimal disturbance to the Teaching Schedule. All co and extra- curricular activities are now planned in the second half of the semester. Advance approval of department All departments submit not just their budget for activities calendar of activities in advance but also the budget for the same in order to minimize time spent on approvals. The students can now choose from a variety of Generic Electives and Skill Enhancement Courses, giving them flexibility and a vast array of options. 1.5 Any new Department/Centre introduced during the year.
