SINHGAD SPORTS KARANDAK 2015-16  Organization: • SCOP will be organizing overall Sinhgad Sports Karandak 2015-16 in two phases. • Phase-I of Sinhgad Sports Karandak has successfully co-ordinated and organized between 10th Oct 2015 and 30th Oct 2015 • Events included in Phase-I was a) International Sports- Cricket, Football and Volleyball, b) Intercollegiate (Invitational) Sports- Cricket, Football, Basketball and Volleyball c) Intercampus- Cricket (Group A). • Phase-I of Sinhgad Sports Karandak will be held from 03rd Jan 2016 to 8th Jan 2016. SINHGAD KARANDAK 2015-16 - NEON :THE CULTURAL FEST

• The students participated wholeheartedly in various events viz. Inauguration of the Camp was done at the hands of Mr. Dilip Shelar (Sarpanch, Kolewadi, Jambhulwadi) and Dr. K. N. Gujar, Principal Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, Vadgaon in the presence of members of the Kolewadi/Jambhulwadi Gram Panchayat and Villagers. Speakers discussed the History and Philosophy behind the establishment of NSS in our country and the role of NSS volunteers. After the inauguration, NSS volunteers, coordinator and other staff members spoke to the students of school, teachers and villagers and about the objectives of the camp. Thereafter, volunteers with the help of villagers and school teachers planned the activities for the camp.

A survey of the village population was conducted by going to every doorstep for collecting information regarding the number of members in the family, age, sex, child labor, income source, family planning, lifestyle, addiction problems, health issues and water harvesting plans was carried out. The data collected was compiled in a systematic way and activities like personal sanitation and environment cleaning, yoga meditation programme, water retaining wall of stones for the plantation of the trees, games and drawing competition based on the theme on importance of water and fine art, Computer literacy workshop, Womens Empowerment as well as guidance about schemes for Mahila Bachat Gat were planned and conducted during the camp. REPORT ON WALL MAGAZINE: Wall magazine is a bi-monthly activity. Till date total four wall magazines are displayed based on Technical and other from Non-technical theme. Initially Department of Department of Pharmaceutics has displayed its wall magazine for the month July-August on “Stem cells and Progeria” under its technical section and “Yoga” under its non-technical section. Department of Pharmachemistry has not yet displayed its wall magazine for the month September- October although notice has been circulated to all four times. And as a precaution we have displayed “Kavita” by Sandeep Khare and our students Ms. Priyanka under its non-technical part by Dept of Pharmacognosy. For month November-December 2015, Department of Pharmacology their titles are “Medicinal garden at home” under its technical section and “How e-commerce works” under its non-technical section, it will be displayed soon.

GRADUATION CEREMONY OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2014-15 As per the policy decision taken by Savitribai Phule Pune University degree award (convocation/ graduation ceremony) will be organized at respective colleges/campus from the year 2016 (Circular no. Exam/certificate/2347 dated 17/7/2015 and Exam/ certificate/720 dated 12/3/2016). The CEO, Principal, UR and LMC member have been assigned the responsibility to follow the sanctity and discipline for the distribution of the degree. The managing committee also included the Social Welfare Officer/NSS in charge so as to make it more student centric and disciplined event. This year Sinhgad Technical Education Society conducted a graduation ceremony of academic year 2014-15 on Saturday, 9 th April 2016 for 5 colleges under its banner viz . Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, Vadgaon; Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy, Narhe; Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa; Sinhgad Institute of Technology and Science, Narhe and Sinhgad College of Arts and Commerce, Narhe. This ceremony was conducted at Sinhgad Institute of Technology and Science, Narhe and was carried out as per the circular and guidelines received from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Dr. H.K. Abhyankar was invited as Chief Guest for the ceremony. Amongst the other dignitaries who attended this program were Prof M.N Navale, Founder President STES, Dr. Mrs. Sunanda Navale, Founder Secretary STES, Dr. K.N. Gujar, Principal, SCOP, Dr. K.G. Bothara, Principal SIOP, Dr. S.D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP, Dr. S.N. Mali, Principal SITS, Dr. Sampada Joshi, Principal SCOAC. College examination officers and Student University representatives for these colleges also attended the ceremony. The ceremony began with a procession from main gate to auditorium by dignitaries, College Examination Officers, graduating students and UR. Followed by the procession there was Saraswati Pujan and Vidyapeeth geet. Prof M.N Navale Founder President STES and Dr. S.N. Mali Principal, SITS delivered a welcome address. Keynote address was given by Dr. H.K. Abhayankar. Dr. Abhayankar emphasized on the points innovation, ethics and patents. He stressed that these three points are important for student career development as well as for Indian research progress. The degree was conferred upon students at the hands of Dr. H.K. Abhayankar, Prof M.N Navale and Dr. Mrs. Sunanda Navale. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Khandare, CEO, SITS followed by National Anthem and procession. The CEO of college Mrs. S.K.Patwardhan and committee member Mrs. A.N. Ranade streamlined the event.
