SAN DIEGO NOTES  1B Wil Myers drove-in the Padres first run of the game in the third inning, plating LF Travis Jankowski…The Padres capitalized on a leadoff walk by SS and a single by Jankowski…Prior to Myers’ RBI hit, the Padres were 2- for-37 with runners in scoring position.  1B Wil Myers extended his to a team-leading nine games with his RBI in the third…his streak entering the game was the second longest active streak in the , and it ranked as third-longest in all of the Major Leagues…Myers has now hit safely in 13 of 15 games to start his 2017 campaign.  RHP Jarred Cosart exited the game with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the fourth inning with a right hamstring strain…Prior to his departure, he had held the D-Backs hitless going into the fourth inning…An infield single from RF began a series of hits and walks allowed by Cosart, and he left the game after walking-in the bases loaded…Cosart was saddled with the loss and threw a total of 3.2 innings of two-hit ball, allowing three runs (one earned) and a pair of walks.  In the first offering from RHP Craig Stammen, he made an errant throw to first-base after fielding a bunt from SS …the error scored 1B and LF Yasmany Tomas to make it a 3-1 game…Stammen has only committed seven errors in his eight-year career…prior to today, his last error came on 4/15/14 at Miami while pitching for the Nationals…tonight, he tossed 1.1 innings, allowed two hits and four runs (all earned) and walked two.  3B Ryan Schimpf walked in the fourth inning, continuing to lead the team with 15 walks…Entering the game, he led the Majors in walks…Schimpf has walked six times in the last five games…His .365 on-base percentage entering the game (among players with at least 13 at-bats) ranked second on the club, behind 1B Wil Myers’ .383 mark.  In the middle of the ninth inning, SS Erick Aybar replaced RHP Christian Bethancourt on the mound for his first career pitching performance…Aybar induced a groundout from C to end the inning.  The four errors committed by San Diego is a season-high for the club…the last time the Padres committed four was May 4th, 2015 at San Francisco.

ARIZONA NOTES  In his eighth career start against the Padres, RHP Shelby Miller tossed 7.1 innings on Tuesday night against the Padres—his longest outing of the 2017 season…Miller threw 7.1 innings of four-hit ball, allowing only one run (earned)…Miller walked twice in the game and scored.  With his walk in the fourth inning, 1B Paul Goldschmidt has reached safely in 18 straight games vs. Padres, besting the Braves' for the longest active streak against the Padres…Goldschmidt has hit .294 (86-for-293) in his career against San Diego with 16 home runs and 56 RBI in 89 games.  LF Yasmany Tomás knocked an infield single in the fourth inning to extend his hitting streak against San Diego, and he drilled his second home run of the season off RHP Craig Stammen in the fifth...he has hit safely in his last five games against the Padres, going .435 (10-for-23) with two doubles and two home runs.  The D-Backs did not put their first runner on-base until the fourth inning, with RF David Peralta’s infield single ending the hitless streak…Peralta recorded his fifth muti-hit game of the season, going 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a walk.  3B drove-in two runs in the fifth inning with a single to center field and added an RBI in the eighth inning with a sacrifice fly…Lab has reached base safely in 13 consecutive games since April 4…it is the second-longest hitting streak of his career, trailing only his 14 game streak on 6/28/16-7/17/16.  C hit his second round-tripper of 2017 in the eighth inning…his solo shot to right center field put the D- Backs up 8-1…Iannetta went 1-for-5 on the night with one run scored, one RBI and a pair of .  CF hit his first triple of the season (fourth of his career) to right field in the ninth inning, plating two to make it a 11-1 game...The D-Backs would not score again in the game.
