The John Henry Wigmore Club

The Wigmore Club was founded in 1962, in honor of John Henry Wigmore, Northwestern Law’s first full-time dean. Wigmore was a prolific scholar, songwriter, innovator, and researcher and served as the Law School’s dean from 1901 to 1929 and as a member of its faculty until his death in 1943. Through their leadership annual gifts, Wigmore Club members build on Dean Wigmore’s legacy, helping to foster and stimulate the spirit, scholarship, professional objectives and ideals he inspired during his long tenure.

Through the Challenge, firms and corporations with three or more Northwestern Pritzker School of Law alumni compete for the highest rate of participation in the annual fund. The Challenge plays an essential role in the Motion to Lead campaign by encouraging participation from supporters at every level.

This year’s winner in the 40+ alumni division was once again Jones Day, with a final participation rate of 53%. The firm’s fundraising efforts were led by Ted Chung (JD ’93), Michael Gray (JD ’92) and Ismail “Ish” Alsheik (JD ’05).
