The judge of this event was the Honorable Sam Sorrell of Lexington, KY. Working side by side with the judge was Sylvester Skierkows- ki, the ringmaster, from Murfreesboro, TN. The show was affiliated with SHOW HIO. John F. Brantley, IV was the official organist who did an outstanding job playing some of the usual horse show songs, but added some songs not often played at horse shows. He certainly kept everyone’s attention. The show started at 6:00 pm and the overcast weather made for a cool evening! About half way through the evening it started sprinkling and then stopped. Even though there were only 99 entries, the Lions Club had a good show. This show is known for their barbeque chicken and it was the hit of the evening. The show had 26 classes with a very special stick horse class added for the kids. There were two memorable highlights of the evening. The first was when the Manchester Lions Club members recognized Nellie Brant- ley for her 55 years of service and made her an honorary member. Her husband, Charles Brantley, has been a regular member for 60 plus years. The second memorable highlight was when I’m Mayhem and Sue Ann Dowell exhibited for the crowd. This team was honored for their recent achievement of becoming the O/A Two Year Old Stallions A Div. World Champion at the 2012 World Celebration. The Walking Horse Stake class was won by Score Card and Jeff Green for owner, Samantha Green. Some of the other interesting classes of the evening were the Two Year Old Amateur class with Jason Myatt at the reins winning the blue ribbon aboard I’m A Title One. The Youth 12-17 Specialty class with Mistress Of Jazz and rider, Annalisa Cooper, who did an outstanding job to claim the blue ribbon. Knock Em Ted and Bobby Hugh won the Riders’ Cup Three Year Old Stallions class for new owners, Dr. Bill and Jannie Chapman. This show was extremely successful and The SCOOP invites all of its readers to visit The SCOOP’s FREE website at www.thescooponline.com for complete results and industry news. Score Card and Jeff Green received the blue ribbon in the Walking Horse Championship Riders’ Cup class for owner, Samantha Green. Other family members joined in to celebrate.
