It's time for LPFM! It's time for local ownership. Kansas City has many openings for LPFM Stations. Please pass LPFM! Almost every station in the Kansas City market is owned by corporations outside of the Kansas City area. The stations all sound the same. The same commercials, voices, news and public service programs are heard on each of the stations in the same group. Jobs are being lost everyday as these stations are beginning to use automation on a regular basis. Stations are being sold on a regular basis with formats changing. The list below has changed frequently. As of 7/28/99 Entercom has announced that they are buying the Sinclair Stations in the Kansas City market. Where will it end????? Before the Audio Division is a Petition for Rule Making filed by Big Country of Missouri, Inc. (“Petitioner”), requesting the upgrade of its Station KWRT-FM, Boonville, Missouri, from Channel 226A to Channel 226C3.1 To accommodate this allotment, Petitioner requests the reclassification of Stations KMXV(FM), Channel 227C, Kansas City, Missouri, and KSRC(FM), Channel 271C, to specify operation as Class Co facilities. 2 Station KMXV(FM) currently operates on Channel 227C with an effective radiated power (“ERP”) of 100 kilowatts at 325 meters height above average terrain (“HAAT”).
