From the Desk of the Chief Executive Officer

COVID-19 continues its destructive path globally, nationally, provincially and locally. However there are some glimmers of light. Yesterday marked the opening of Phase One of the Re- Open Plan and on May 19 will see Phase 2. Slowly and methodically the economy will be reopened with one eye firmly fixed on health and safety and one on the economy.

Our Chamber has been steadfast in support of our members during this time of need. We are working day and night on programming and advocacy based on the needs expressed by you in surveys as well as one on one conversations.

Last week we held a sector specific zoom call for stylists with representatives from both the Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan. Both individuals are very knowledgeable about government programs for business and are excellent to deal with. This Friday we will hold another sector specific call for retailers and encourage those who are in retail to jump on the complimentary call and ask your questions even if you are not a member.

Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank the Government of Saskatchewan and in particularly Scott Moe and Minister for entrusting us with $1 million in funding to expand our #togetherwestand campaign throughout the province. We are very appreciative and humbled. We have already gotten to work on the campaign which will roll over the course of the next 11 months.

Thank you to you our members for your support of the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce. We will get though this, #togetherwestand!
