Pens Pencils and Grips Pens Pencils and grips HAND HUGGERS All the different pencils and pens available have oversized triangular shafts to help develop a comfortable and correct grip for little hands. There are a variety of pencil pens and colouring pencils available. The Hand Hugger writing pen - chunky, hard-wearing nib gives slight resistance to the paper so that it gives greater control when first learning to write. FABER-CASTELL GRIP PENCILS Triangular in shape with rubber "soft-grip" dots to help a correct and comfortable grip. Worth trying instead of pencil grip to prompt finger placement. STABILO MOVE EASY ROLLERBALL PEN AND PENCIL (RIGHT HANDED AND LEFT HANDED) The pen and pencil have been made with a special left handed and a right hand version with the grip moulded for a comfortable fit in the writing hand. Stabilo’s Move Easy rollerball pen glides over the paper and it can be erased with a fountain pen eraser just like normal fountain pen ink. Especially useful where fountain/ink pens are expected in High School. Children’s Occupational Therapy Service Pens Pencils and grips YOROPEN BALLPOINT PEN OR PENCIL The following features are unique to this pen: 1. FINGER SUPPORT: Prevents fingers from slipping down towards the pen tip. The change of angle allows comfortable and natural writing. It also presents the nib at a better angle for smooth ink flow. It requires very little pressure and reduces writing strain. 2. VISUAL SPACE: It is easier to see what you are writing because your fingers do not obstruct your field of vision. This is of particular benefit to left-handed writers. 3. ADJUSTABLE GRIP: The tripod grip can be rotated to the user's preferred writing position. Left-handers should simply rotate the grip to the left. TRIANGULAR PEN/PENCIL GRIPS Soft triangular shaped grip which slides easily onto standard round or hexagonal pencils and most ballpoint pens. Grips form a cushion for the fingers, providing a comfortable, natural hold. TRI – GO Grip This design allows the fingers to touch the writing implement and can make gripping the pencil easier. The grip supports the fingers, reducing muscle fatigue whilst ensuring the writing implement can be gripped comfortably. Suitable for both left and right handed use. COMFORT PENCIL GRIP Children’s Occupational Therapy Service Pens Pencils and grips Made in soft foam they provide a comfortable and secure grip and work well for children experiencing discomfort by increased pressure through their fingers causing, soreness and calluses where the pencil rests. Children who tend to get sweaty or clammy hands and fingers often prefer the soft foam rather than rubber versions. RIDGED COMFORT PENCIL GRIP Same foam material and weight as the above comfort pencil grip, to provide added comfort with the addition of the ridges, which gives additional tactile input to the fingers. This can help with refining the pencil grasp, reducing discomfort and increasing feedback to the brain about the finger position on the pencil. CROSS GUARD ULTRA PENCIL GRIP Children’s Occupational Therapy Service Pens Pencils and grips This cross guard pencil grip has a special finger guard to hold fingers in the correct position and prevents the fingers from crossing over. Its large size assists with pen control and support when the younger child’s pencil grip is peculiar or problematic. ULTRA SOFT GRIP (LARGE AND SMALL) The design of the ultra pencil grip is large, soft and comfortable, offering more control. 'R' and 'L' show where to position the thumb. Suitable for children learning to write who have not fully developed a consistent grasp or those children having difficulties with diminished grip resulting from motor and neurological impairments. Writing Claw Pencil Grip Designed to help improve the hold of a pencil by correcting the position of the child's fingers. The finger tips sit comfortably in the three caps of the pencil grip and can help change an established unhelpful or painful grip. They are designed for short term use. Available in small, medium or large. Can be used by left or right handed users. Children’s Occupational Therapy Service .

  • Technical Description Mechanical Pencil Portfolio
The Mechanical Pencil A Technical Description The mechanical pencil is a reusable wring instrument that uses a lead-advance mechanism to extend rods of graphite lead forward. The mechanical pencil is most commonly used for drawing pictures, designs or symbols, and wring text on paper. Tombow Pencil Co. is recognized for high-quality mechanical pencils, and mulfarious erasers. This document uses the Tombow Mono Graph pencil (as a model) to describe the features and components of a mechanical pencil. Features The mechanical pencil is a precision wring instrument more commonly used for drawing than wooden pencils and uses either draing lead or thin leads. Graphic art, technical drawing, and wring professionals use the mechanical pencil to create a line of constant thickness. (see fig. 1) • Lifeme reusable holder • Individual replacemtn of graphite lead rods • Pencil never decreases in size or need to be sharpened • Rubber gripping prevents callus buildup under the middle finger joint The mechanical pencil combines the features of a wooden pencil and a ballpoint pen. It can be held in the palm of a hand and is made of hi-impact plasc or metal. Approximately one-third of the mechanical pencil is wrapped with so black rubber for gripping between the thumb, index, and middle finger while wring or drawing. The clamp holder (or clip), located at the top, can slide into a T-shirt breast pocket allowing for hands-free carrying and easy access. Types There are three basic types of mechanisms used to extend the graphite lead in the mechanical pencil.

stylos writing instruments since 1981 A fountain pen is one of those rare objects which connects with us on so many levels. In our most creative mode, it is an extension of our mind which through gestures of our hand convert random thoughts into intelligible concepts, ideas or expressions. Every time we use a writing instrument - we write code. Sometimes people understand it. Sometimes there are layers in the meaning of the words we write. Often, we give away more in the style and stroke of our writing than in the actual words themselves. In many cultures, the written letter and word is considered “art”. I take every opportunity to infuse art into everyday objects. With pens it’s even more tactile sensual and very personal. STYLOS is sculpture.
