Birds of a Feather (BoF)

We all know that we have various interests in common, but there just isn’t always a way to put a panel about everything connected to a science fiction or fantasy interest on the tracks. BoFs are your opportunity to get together with other fans of a particular TV show, book series, or special interest and share your views, ideas, and enthusiasm with like-minded souls! So, if you’re really the most dedicated Browncoat, or truly more buck than Starbuck herself, or are on the edge of your seat to see how many other Heralds have made it this year to BayCon—a BoF is the place for you! 22 BayCon 2019 • Insert Coin to Continue Family Friendly Hey, parents! When your kids are bouncing off the walls and you need a place to sit and relax, come on up to Collaborate 2. Family Friendly is a place where parents and children can come together for story time, arts, crafts, and music; where the kids can run, play, be silly, and not sit still and be quiet. We'll have an assortment of games and activities throughout the weekend, some for the very smallest, and some geared towards slightly older kids. Please note: we are not a babysitting service, and we cannot be responsible for the care of anyone’s children. Children must have Kid-in-Tow badges, and an adult with a membership badge must be in the room with them at all times. We may ask parents to shadow kids that are experiencing behavior challenges. For youth memberships "Options (13 - 14+)" or a Full Weekend badge (15+): Older kids who are participating in the con independently are welcome to join us in Family Friendly without a parent. We will not be responsible for older kids comings and goings, and if their behavior is a problem, we may ask them to leave. If they aren’t old enough to wander the con unsupervised, they need a parent in Family Friendly. All activities in Family Friendly are open to older youth, but we are setting aside a corner of the room for programming geared towards them/hang out space for the whole weekend. Older kids and teens can feel free to join in any activity in the main FF space that appeals to them, as well. Youth who are in the teen space during regular FF hours: Please be conscious of the fact that you are sharing the room with small people and be good neighbors. Family Friendly After Hours

This will be youth (13+) focused space. Kids of all ages are welcome (with parents for younger kids) but be aware that teens will be teening. We will be asking them to be aware of sharing space with younger kids during the day, but after hours we will not ask them to censor their language and content for small kids.
