Henry Moore OM CH 1898–1986 was the greatest British sculptor of the 20th century and arguably among the top half-dozen or so in the world. By concentrating initially on a small number of subjects – the head, the mother and child, the reclining nude, the family group – · 2010–2011 review · annual Moore Foundation The Henry he created unforgettable images of the human condition. He later expanded this vocabulary to include more inventive forms that interlock, touch, point, split into two or more parts, or contain one form within another. However abstract they may appear, all of these forms are ultimately derived from nature and Moore preferred his sculptures to be seen outdoors in natural surroundings. The Henry Moore Foundation was The Henry Moore The Henry Moore Foundation established by Moore himself in 1977, to increase public enjoyment and understanding Foundation Annual Review of the visual arts, especially sculpture. His vision and generosity created this country’s most important artist’s foundation. Henry Moore, the first major U.S. retrospective of the artist's work in nearly 20 years, will be on view in the East Building of the National Gallery of Art from October 21, 2001 through January 27, 2002. The exhibition traces the crucial stages of Moore's development over the course of 60 years in particular, his early engagements with primitivism, his dialogue with abstraction and surrealism during the 1930s, his drawings of London during World War II, and his postwar interest in large-scale public sculpture. More than 160 of his works are represented, including carved works in wood and stone, bronze sculptures, plaster maquettes, and drawings. "Henry Moore is one of the most celebrated sculptors of the 20th century, and his works can be found throughout the world," said Earl A. Powell III, director, National Gallery of Art. "This retrospective offers a comprehensive assessment of Moore's work and provides visitors the opportunity to appreciate his many contributions to modern sculpture." Adventure games have a few things in common. There is usually a quest or ultimate mystery to unravel, and the person on the quest is often the character controlled by the player. Generally there are obstacles, challenges, and puzzles that the player must contend with in order to fulfill his or her quest. Wrath of the Gods combines many of the features of an adventure game with stories from Greek mythology. Players take the role of a prince who is on a quest to regain his birthright. In the course of playing Wrath of the Gods you will: steal the Golden Fleece from a fire-breathing dragon, fly like Icarus with wings of wax and feathers, charm Cerberus, outsmart the Cyclops, and encounter many other challenges and puzzles from the Greek myths. As is typical with interactive games, in Wrath of the Gods the player will be collecting objects and gathering clues along the way—nothing should be ignored. Each screen is a different cinematic scene. Wrath of the Gods is non-linear, meaning you are free to go through rooms and solve puzzles in any order you want (within reason; some puzzles require that others be solved first). As you acquire appropriate inventory, you will roam the ancient terrain, interact with mythical characters, and try to solve a multitude of puzzles and dilemmas.
