OUTREACH INITIATIVES The following outreach initiatives were completed by the SEU during the reporting period: A. Management Training The Salem Vice President of Human Resources conducts monthly HR Network Training sessions via teleconference and PowerPoint presentations, which includes review of EEO policies and compliance. The SEU’s Office Manager participates in these training sessions each month and then routinely communicates with the SEU’s General Manager and other management team members to keep all employees apprised of the company and SEU’s policy on equal employment. B. Employee Training Program The SEU’s General Manager conducts bi-monthly training with Sales Managers specifically designed to educate them about the radio industry and the responsibilities 2 | Page of a station manager in order for employees to gain skills to qualify for advancement into higher level positions. Many of the SEU’s support staff are also being cross- trained in other positions to acquire skills that could qualify them for job advancement or promotion to a higher-level position of responsibility. C. Other Activities The SEU provided promotional support for State and County Job Fairs with on-air and website promotions for the following events: 1. September 16, 2020 – Recruit Military Global Virtual Career Fair, hosted by MilitaryRecruit.com and DAV.org, serving US Military job seekers and spouses, in an online recruiting event where job seekers met with employers online. 2. October 22, 2020 – Sacramento Virtual Career Fair, hosted by Diversity Career Group, is a specialized virtual event for entry level, recent college graduates and experienced sales, IT, retail, and customer service professionals, looking for new career opportunities, to have the opportunity to meet One-on-One in instant chat and video job interviews with corporate hiring managers. 3. May 20, 2021 – Recruit Military California Bay Area Virtual Career Fair, hosted by MilitaryRecruit.com and DAV.org, serving Veteran job seekers and spouses, in an online recruiting event where job seekers met with employers online. 4. June 11, 2021 – Sacramento’s 21st Annual Diversity Employment Day (Virtual) Career Fair, hosted by City Career Fair, serving candidates in Diverse Communities, that are Multicultural/Bilingual, People with Disabilities, LGBTQ, and Mature & Professional Candidates, with opportunities to book Virtual Video meetings with top NorCal employers with immediate openings in finance, sales, management, healthcare, engineering and more. 5. June 24, 2021 – Business Expo & Job Fair, hosted by Rancho Cordova Area Chamber, serving local businesses and job seekers in a unique “Business to Community” Expo & Job Fair where candidates have the opportunity to meet local business owners in interactive business displays, and enjoy lunch samplings from food trucks, restaurants and food caterers that are also hiring. 6. July 26, 2021 – Sacramento’s Diversity Virtual Career Fair, hosted by DiversityX, serving minority job seekers wanting to interview with multiple hiring managers from Sacramento’s top employers who value the candidate’s diversity. D. Job Banks and Internet Programs The SEU participated in job banks and internet programs designed to provide general information about opportunities in broadcasting and to encourage individuals to consider future employment in radio broadcasting careers. Job openings were posted in a variety of web sites to ensure broad and inclusive recruitment. During the reporting period the following websites were used: 1.
