The ultimate aim of the Board is to introduce 1220" wide x 15'~6" high rolling stock on B,G,system of Indian Railways. Finding out the possibility of running rolling stock to 4 00/T.1043 is just a first step in the introduction of 712'.0" wide x 15'e6" high rolling stock. Tt ic however noted that less vertical clearance of 310 mu. has been condoned by Chief Engineer (Construction) in terms of para 4.8.3 of Sub Structure Code (1985) vide letter No.EW,223/w26/BR-II dated 15.2.88 as a special case as stated at para 3 in your letter mentioned above.
