BSU 31, Toledo 30 Oct. 9, 1993 at BSU -- BSU was behind 30-3 In Ball State’s 1993 Homecoming game vs. Toledo, the Cardinals fell behind 16-3 at the half, and Toledo scored two third-quarter touchdowns to take a 30-3 lead with 4:10 remaining in the third stanza. Ball State’s rally began with 2:24 left in the third quarter on a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mike Neu to re- ceiver Brian Oliver. A Tony Nibbs’ two-point conversion run made the score 30-11 and that was all the scoring in the third stanza. BSU started its fourth-quarter scor- ing with a Neu to Oliver 98-yard TD pass with 11:02 left in the game. The Matt Swart extra point kick was good and closed the gap to 30-18.
