Poker Ace Joe Hachem Wins USD 345000 Poker ace Joe Hachem wins USD 345,000 Aussie poker king Joe Hachem is in the money again after winning USD 345,000 in a Las Vegas tournament. The former Melbourne chiropractor, who won USD 10 million playing poker almost a year ago, yesterday outlasted 822 poker players to finish runner-up in the World Series of Poker event. But Hachem was a little disappointed he didn’t win the tournament and the USD 649,000 first prize. „It’s bittersweet. On one hand it’s a great result but I’m not happy that I didn’t win,“ the 40-year-old father of four said. Hachem looked set to beat Californian Russ Boyd but the turn of the final card, a five of diamonds, gave the American two pairs and the tournament. Hachem said when he saw that card „my heart sank to my ankles“. „I had him right where I wanted him,“ he said. „I’m disappointed I didn’t win. I pushed him as hard as I could.“ Hachem’s finish was watched by his wife, Jeannie, who hugged him moments after the No Limit Hold ‚Em game ended. „She was disappointed for me. She’s my No. 1 fan,“ Hachem said. „She said to me, I hope you are happy with the result.“ Asked what he was going to do with the USD 345,000 he’d earned for three days‘ play, Hachem laughed and said: „I have no idea. Maybe I’ll buy a property for one of the kids.“ Hachem said he hoped the big payday would send a message to the world’s best poker players that he was „the real deal“. „Anyone in their own field wants the recognition they deserve,“ Hachem said. This month Hachem will defend his World Series of Poker world title in Las Vegas, competing for a first prize of USD 13.4 million..

  • Hellmuth-Jelassi Skirmishes Add Spice to the World Series of Poker
Hellmuth-Jelassi skirmishes add spice to the World Series of Poker Las Vegas – As the field of 2,378 players at Day 2B of the World Series of Poker Main Event dwindled to 855 Wednesday, players like Raja Kattamuri, Alexander Kostristyn and Victor Ramdin climbed their way up the leaderboard. But by the sheer force of their personalities, two players with fewer chips stole the show with a drama of their own. Phil Hellmuth, playing Phil Hellmuth, was the lead character. Ramzi Jelassi, the plucky poker player who wouldn’t back down, served as Hellmuth’s foil. And the rest of the players at the table had supporting roles. The fireworks began when Hellmuth, wearing a leather jacket over his UltimateBet „Poker Brat“ jersey and UltimateBet baseball hat, decided to push Las Vegas‘ Bobby Law all in with a sizable bet. „You think you’re just going to keep running over me?“ Hellmuth asked. Law, wearing a short-sleeved Green Bay Packers golf shirt, clearly had a good hand and didn’t know what to do. „You’ve got queens,“ Hellmuth said. „I know you’ve got queens.“ Then Hellmuth called for a clock and Law pushed back. „Everyone has been taking an hour to make a decision,“ Law said. Hellmuth quickly withdrew his request and started talking to his wife, seated at a podium immediately behind him. „Honey, honey, warm up the car,“ Hellmuth said, as Law continued to ponder his decision. Finally, Law mucked his hand, and Hellmuth revealed he’d bluffed Law out of the pot with a two and a four.

  • 466 Make Main Event Day 2A Cut
WSOP 2008 Day 41: 466 make Main Event Day 2a cut There may have been 1,251 players coming into Day 2a of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event on Tuesday, but only 466 came out of it by the time the last hand was dealt for the day. By the end of the day, all eyes were on Brian Schaedlich, from Cleveland, Ohio, who was sitting with one of the most impressive chip leads for a player at the end of a Day 2 that the WSOP has seen in years. He ended the day with about USD 801,000 in chips, and his closest rival is sitting with just USD 397,000. Brandon Adams is sitting in a strong position as well after Day 2a with USD 353,600. The Full Tilt Poker pro had a good stack of more than USD 70k after his Day 1 and said he played a lot of smaller and mid-size pots on Day 2a to continue his climb. „Today I started out playing very fast but then treaded water for a while,“ Adams said in his interview with PokerListings. „I think I ended up the second level of the day with around USD 160,000. I just had a good level and got it all the way up to USD 207,000.“ As he continued to accumulate chips, Adams landed at the ESPN feature table as well, where he had to play under the watchful eyes of the cameras. Adams is a renowned cash-game player who has managed to keep a fairly low tournament profile so far, but his exposure in the Main Event if he goes deep could change all that.

  • WSOP Championship – Der ‚American Dream‘ Der Poker Welt

  • Dr. Pauly Bei Der WSOP 2008: Der Am Meisten Unterschätzte Spieler Der Pokerszene – Erik Seidel

Texas hold 'em (also known as Texas holdem, hold 'em, or holdem) is a variation of the standard card game of poker. Two cards (hole cards) are dealt face down to each player and then five community cards are placed face-up by the dealer—a series of three (“the flop”) then an ad- ditional single card (“the turn” or “fourth”) and another additional card (“the river” or “fifth street”). Players have the option to check, bet, raise or fold after each deal; i.e., betting may occur prior to the flop, “on the flop”, “on the turn”, and “on the river”. Texas Hold 'em is the “H” game featured in H.O.R.S.E and in H.O.S.E. 1 Objective In Texas hold 'em, as in all variants of poker, individuals compete for an amount of money or chips contributed by the players themselves (called the pot). Because the cards Johnny Moss, Chill Wills, Amarillo Slim, Jack Binion, and Puggy are dealt randomly and outside the control of the players, Pearson outside of Binion’s Horseshoe in 1974 each player attempts to control the amount of money in the pot based either on the hand they are holding,[1] or on Although little is known about the invention of Texas their prediction as to what their opponents may be hold- hold 'em, the Texas State Legislature officially recognizes ing.
