By Daniel Kucin Jr. Sports Editor OXON HILL – Batman and Robin are recognized as cape cru- sading superheroes that are both in- separable and masterful at their craft. There are not many tandems that work as well together as those two – fictionally or in reality – but instead of fighting crime in Gotham, Oxon Hill quarterback Dajuan Rollins and wide receiver Daniel George will have to settle for being the best dynamic duo in the county. Actually, some would say they are the villains in this storyline, crushing their 3A rivals in the Prince George's County football universe. Rollins and George could be viewed as the arch nemesis, the Kryptonite if you will, to any defense, defying their ambitions of obtaining rings of power that unlock championship glory. If the two players were to have superpowers, Rollins would have laser vision with lethal gunslinging capabilities, providing deadly accu- racy with a cannon arm that puts him in a category of his own. By Shawn McFarland Managing Editor LANHAM – In his first sea- son under new head coach Carlos Lockwood, DuVal running back David Dupree rushed for more than 1,600 yards and totaled 15 touchdowns. Now, with Dupree back for his senior season and Lockwood more comfortable at the helm with a year under his belt, the two say the goals for this high school football season are simple: win the 4A class and break every rushing record imaginable. “I want to start with winning the 4A class. I think that's every- one’s common goal, but here at DuVal it is realistic,” Lockwood said. “We want to start with get- ting out of the 4A, and then hope- fully we can get out of the county and represent the 4A South in states. “With David, we want to break every record we can with him. And that's what we talked about.” And according to Lockwood, who is close with Dupree and his family since they grew up in the same neighborhood, the young man has bought in. Things like al- tering his running style and eating healthier, although slightly diffi- cult at first, have Dupree setting his sights higher for 2017.
