SCHEDULE Waters Ocean waters from Flat Rock (just north of Ballina) to 29°00.000′ south The whole of the waters west of the Ballina (Juvenile King Prawn) closure set out in Schedule 2 of the Fisheries Management (Ocean Trawl Share Management Plan) Regulation 2006 from a line drawn due east from the eastern extremity of Flat Rock (just north of Ballina) to a line drawn from the mean high waters mark at 29°00.000′S due east to 29°00.000′S, 153°29.196′E (the south western corner of the Ballina Juvenile King Prawn closure). Ocean waters from 29°02.500′ south to 29°16.270′ south (Shark Bay) The whole of the waters west of the 8 fathom depth contour from a line drawn due east from the mean high waters mark at 29°02.500′S to a line drawn due east form the mean high water mark 29°16.270′S. Ocean waters from 29°20.290′ (Shark Bay) to Angourie Point The whole of the waters west of the 8 fathom depth contour from a line drawn due east from the mean high water mark at 29°20.290′S to a line drawn due east of the mean high water mark at 29°22.400′S and the whole of the waters west of the Angourie Point (Juvenile King Prawn) closure set out in Schedule 2 of the Fisheries Management (Ocean Trawl Share Management Plan) Regulation 2006). In this Schedule, latitude and longitude coordinates are in WGS84 datum. In this fi shing closure, Ocean Trawl Fishery means the share management fi shery of that name, as described in Schedule 1 to the Act. The provisions of this fi shing closure in respect of endorsement holders in the Ocean Trawl Fishery have effect despite any provisions in the Fisheries Management (Ocean Trawl Share Management Plan) Regulation 2006. 2240 SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT 24 May 2013 This notifi cation commences on 28 May 2013 and is effective until 27 June 2013, unless sooner amended or revoked.     THE OFFICIAL CLUB NEWSLETTER Chartered 24th September, 1956 Rotary District 9675 Humanity in Motion Monday 28th September 2020 Positive notes from the Liverpool Plains It’s nearly October and how dry it was in January seems a very distant memory. Rain has been enough to produce some spectacular crops around the area. Since our last report winter has come and gone and we hope at least for no more frosts. Canola is in full flower and there are paddocks of yellow dotted across the landscape. Wheat and Barley are yet to start producing their head but will be happening very soon and the rain over the weekend was very welcomed. Groundwater and surface run-off is still of concern and this shows the landscape is still quite dry underneath. Expectations of a La Nina forming are high and this generally means we get wetter that average conditions from now through to March. Given the winter crop harvest happens during this period we are hoping for drier conditions during November and December – then it can rain all it wants. THE CHANNEL - page 1 28th September 2020 Remember it’s generally very difficult to from this... keep all farmers happy but as the maxim goes “you make more money from mud than dust”. Farmers are very grateful for the concern, support and generosity that our city cousins gave during the extended drought. Tourism has been steady in the Liverpool Plains, with travellers from Sydney and Newcastle "escaping" the Big Smoke to spend their money in regional Australia. The hardship of the drought is still in peo - ple's minds, and they are relieved when they are greeted by green hills and lush crops! The Liverpool Plains Shire Council is supporting tourism and local businesses by waiving the advertising fee in the new tourism brochure, which hopefully will be on the shelves by January 2021.
