5th BIENNIAL OTTAWA IMMIGRATION Monday, November 25, 2019 | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM FORUM Jean Pigott Place, Ottawa City Hall Planning Together For Inclusive Prosperity 5th Biennial Ottawa Immigration Forum | 2019 1 OLIP’s mandate is to build Ottawa’s capacity to attract, settle, and integrate immigrants by: 1. Facilitating common vision and shared priorities and pursuing institutional alignments 2. Supporting and animating people-centered, collaborative planning that leverages research, data, and courageous and inclusive dialogues 3. Coordination of mandates and action plans to create new synergies and to maximize partners’ impact on agreed-upon priorities 4. Development of capacity to establish shared measurement of collective progress and to create trusted mechanisms for course corrections 2 5th Biennial Ottawa Immigration Forum | 2019 5th Biennial Ottawa Immigration Forum Planning Together for Inclusive Prosperity Dear colleagues, Welcome to the 5th Biennial Ottawa Immigration Forum. We are delighted to bring together OLIP partners and stakeholders to share knowledge, experiences and inspiration for improving the settlement and integration of immigrants in Ottawa. The Ottawa Immigration Forum takes place every two years. It is an integral part of OLIP’s governance process, as the forum is where the partnership takes stock of collective progress in implementing the Ottawa Immigration Strategy, the agreed-upon path for improving Ottawa’s capacity to attract, welcome and integrate immigrants. We are excited about the theme of this year’s forum: Planning Together for Inclusive Prosperity. The theme recognizes the essential contributions of immigrants to Ottawa’s vibrancy and prosperity, and brings attention to some of the complex challenges that need to be dealt with collectively in order to optimize the benefits of immigration for Ottawa. We invite you to contribute to - and leverage - the connections, ideas, and inspirations the Forum will afford us all; and to continue being engaged in the on-going progress we are charting together. We would like to acknowledge and thank the sponsors and contributors of the 5th Biennial Ottawa Immigration Forum: City of Ottawa; Local Employment Planning Council (LEPC); Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC); Canadian Heritage; Heritage Ottawa; Conseil Économique et Social d’Ottawa Carleton; the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre; World Skills Employment Centre, Catholic Centre for Immigrants and mécènESS.
