Two cases recommended by DEAC were considered in the DEIAA meeting,

(I) Sri. C. Narayanan, Managing Partner, ,MIS Ceeyen Stone Crusher, Cinlsh Nivas, Chayoth, Kinanur Village, Vellarikundu Taluk, Kasaragod.District has applied for environmental clearance, for the building stone quarry project in R.S.No. 40/1K in Parappa, village, Vellarikund,u Taluk. The

quarry lease 4.732~; Heet. belong to 6 partners, formed as d partnership firm in the name of MIS Ceeven Stone Crusher. There isan existing, quarry on the southern side of the [ease area, ' The lease applied area exhibits hilly terrain with' highest' elevation' 170 M and , lowest elevation 90 M from MSL. The proposed. area and buffer zone , an:;.:fare demarcated with pillars. The DEAC recommended for issuance of environmental clearance for

mining of 7200M3 of ordinary earth as against 10484M3 applied, taking to account the elevation in the contour map submitted by the applicant. The' removal of earth should be in terraced manner with. Maximum depth of 30 M only.

The committee discussedthe proposal in detail and opined that .the Environmental clearance car) be issued with general condition and specific condition.

1. Environmental clearance for the building stone quarry

The Authority approved for, issuance of environmental clearance for the building stone quarry project to C. Narayanan, Managing Partner, MIS Ceeyen Stone Crusher, Cinish Nivas, Chavoth, Kinanur Vif!age subject to the general condition and the followlng'speciflc conditions.

1) Barbed wire fencing should be provided all around lease area to prevent any mishap. 2) Benching method should be strictly practiced with terrace height not more than SM and terrace width not less than 5.00Mfor each bench. 3kDust suppression mechanism with adequate water storage and sprinkling shari be adoptedto avoid anv dust pollution in the viclnitv.. ' 4) Transportation of products, powder etc must be with .sufflclent wetting and adequately covered. The list of vehicles used should be submitted to correspond] ng Station HC'LiSf2 Officer and this office. No vehicle other than the listed should be used. 5) Sound and Air pollution control measures as required shall be maintained. . ' 6) The blasting times must be displayed and strictlv adhered to between 6AM r to 6PM. No night time blasting is allowed. 7) Gully plug shall be constructed and ms.ntained to ensure recharge of ground water. \ \
