DAY OF SERVICE AT EDEN HOUSE On Saturday, November 8, 2014, the FBA held its annual Day of Service at Eden House, a residential program for women who have been commercially and sexually exploited. Eden House provides six to eight women a safe and supportive home for two years, free of cost, as they make their journey back to a normal life. During their stay, the women of Eden House will also receive the counseling, education, and job training services they need to lay the groundwork for their future success. As part of the Day of Service, FBA members, in union with Rebuilding Together New Orleans, spent the day painting the Eden House facilities. With the strong turnout and good weather, the volunteers were able to finish a large portion of the home’s exterior walls and porch areas.

The FBA received a special letter of thanks from Marybeth Corazzini, Executive Director of Eden House. In it, she thanked the association for its support and detailed the services that residents will receive thanks to the efforts of supporters like the FBA, including health and dental care, legal services, and art therapy. Ms. Corazzini invites members of the FBA to take advantage of the twice-monthly tours offered by Eden House to visit and see firsthand the important services that the FBA’s efforts are helping to support.
