To take his spot on the roster, the A’s recalled catcher Stephen Vogt from Triple-A Sacramento. The A’s also announced that infielder Vinnie Catricala, who was designated for assignment yesterday, was outrighted to Double-A Midland. Jaso was batting .271 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 70 games and also had 38 walks for a .387 on-base percentage. He was batting .225 over his last 16 games but had 13 walks for a .415 on-base percentage. Jaso must spend at least seven days on the DL and has to be transferred to the 15-day DL if he is not reinstated after 14 days. Vogt joins the A’s for the second time this year as he hit .154 with a home run and two RBI in four games, all starts at catcher, during his first stint from June 25 to July 3. He hit .323 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 16 games with Sacramento following his July 4 option and is batting .324 with 13 home runs and 58 RBI in 74 games overall with the River Cats.
