*Redshirted last year at CSU Preseason Notes • Radebaugh at the helm: Charleston Southern head coach Barclay Radebaugh is the program’s all-time win- ningest head coach, and the fifth winningest coach in Big South Conference history. Radebaugh directed CSU to Big South regular season championships and NIT bids in 2012-13 and 2014-15. • Keeling back after huge freshman year: Christian Keeling comes off one of the most productive freshman seasons in CSU and Big South history. Keeling was runner-up for Big South Freshman of the Year honors af- ter setting a CSU freshman scoring record with 539 points. He was named Big South Freshman of the Week seven times; the most by anyone in at least the last 13 years. Keeling was the only freshman in the country to lead his team in scoring and rebounding, pace all league freshmen in those categories and rank top-ten league-wide in each. • Howard & Mitchell other key returners: Seniors Javis Howard and Cortez Mitchell will hope to help lead CSU back toward the top of the Big South. Howard led the Big South with three offensive rebounds per game last season. Mitchell showcased his explosive ability off the dribble in his first Division I campaign, and is expected to transition to for the Bucs this year. • Newcomers poised to make immediate impact: Ten newcomers, including six true freshmen, help fill out CSU’s roster. Among the new faces expected to play pivotal roles are freshman wing Phlandrous Fleming Jr. and junior forward Travis McConico. Fleming was the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Georgia Class 5A Player of the Year at Cedar Shoals High School (Athens) last season. McConico will look to step into the important ‘stretch four’ role for CSU after knocking down 93 three-pointers at Florida State College at Jack- sonville last year. 2017-18 Charleston Southern Coaching Staff Barclay RADEBAUGH 13th Season at Charleston Southern 14th Season as a head coach Big South Regular Season Championships in 2013 & 2015 (NIT both years) Big South Coach of the Year (2011-12 & 2014-15) Barclay Radebaugh has presided over one of the most successful stretches in CSU won a game in the Big South Conference Tournament for the Charleston Southern history during his 12 years as head coach.
